In June of 2019, Cedars-Sinai will open the first multidisciplinary center catered to cancer care in the San Fernando Valley. The building located off Ventura Blvd in Tarzana, CA, will provide medical oncology, breast cancer surgery, radiation oncology, imaging, and internal medicine services to this unique patient population. Our one-stop, multi-disciplinary treatment center is equipped to provide precise and effective treatments for even the most complex cancers, while providing patients with the most comfortable and relaxing environment we can.
The radiation oncology team will be led by Dr. Benjamin King. Dr. King received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency training in Radiation Oncology at the University of Washington Medical Center. He specializes in treatment of a variety of cancers including but not limited to cancers of the breast, lung, prostate, head & neck, skin, bone, as well as metastatic cancers. Our multi-disciplinary, patient-centered approach at the Tarzana location incorporates input from a team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and specialty physicians to create an individualized care plan that is tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
The Clinic is seeking a Clinical Care Associate, work hours may vary and may work occasional weekends as required. Work location will be in the San Fernando Valley. The building will be located off Ventura Blvd in Tarzana, CA.
Functioning under the general supervision of the Service Line Manager and a licensed caregiver, the Clinical Care Associate (CCA) provides clinical and administrative support to nurses, physicians and allied health professionals (Clinicians) working in the radiation oncology affiliate sites. Functions may include patient interview, data collection, documentation in the medical record, exam room set-up, cleaning and preparation, ordering/stocking of medical supplies, general administrative support, and other duties as assigned. The CCA may also perform non-invasive routine technical services under the supervision of a licensed physician, surgeon or podiatrist who is on the premises. The Clinical Care Associate functions within his/her scope of education/certification not to exceed what is permitted by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center policies, procedures and guidelines.
High school diploma or GED.
Certified Medical Assistant, or California Certified Medical Assistant required.
Graduate of a Medical Assisting program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
Basic Life Support approved by the American Heart Association.
Two years of previous medical office or clinic experience required.
