The Department of Nutrition Science in the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) seeks applicants for the position of Director of the Purdue Clinical Research Center (CRC), focused on human/clinical studies. The successful applicant will be appointed as a Clinical Associate or Full Professor. The Purdue CRC is part of the larger Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI; www.purdue.edu/hhs/nutr/crc).

The Purdue CRC is a 7,000-ft2 nutrition clinical research facility that provides bionutrition, dietary assessment, and clinical services for the Department, College, campus and CTSI. • College of Health and Human Sciences (purdue.edu)), and priorities of the larger university (Strategic Initiatives (purdue.edu)). The CRC also coordinates with CTSI resources at the Indiana University School of Medicine. The successful candidate will work with faculty and staff to ensure high-quality services, plan and develop new opportunities, and manage the CRC staff and resources. The CRC Director position is a 12-month (Fiscal Year) appointment.

The candidate will have a strong track record of conducting human/clinical research and will work to increase use of the CRC by University faculty as well as external government-, academic-, and industry-sponsored entities. Opportunities to bring in collaborators from HHS and campus-wide exist in obesity, gerontology, child/adolescent development, women's health, disease prevention, imaging, and biomedical engineering, among others.

Opportunities also exist for partnering with the HHS Extension office which offers programs to enhance the well-being of individuals, families and communities in each of Indiana's 92 counties. The primary role will be to administratively direct the CRC as a core facility. This individual is not expected to bring in external funding to support an independent research program as a principal investigator but they are welcome to do so.

Additionally, they will have opportunity to be involved in the grant writing process for renewals of CTSI funding and other funding designed to benefit the CRC and larger Department. The successful candidate will also participate in teaching (at a reduced load) and outreach activities consistent with the candidate's area of expertise.
