The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Family Nurse Practitioner Program Director is a member of the faculty and is appointed to standing faculty committees. The individual in this position provides direct oversight of the Family Nurse Practitioner track. This individual has work assignment with dedicated time to provide administrative, resource, curriculum and evaluation oversight for the track. Additionally, this individual is actively involved in leadership, teaching, guidance, and advising of students. Scholarly work and professional service are also essential aspects of an assistant/associate professor's work.

• Provide oversight for course and curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation of the Family Nurse Practitioner track.

• Participate in academic advisement.

• Participate in activities that provide professional service to the community and leadership of professional organizations.

• Maintain exemplary academic standards and be consistently active in development of teaching methods and evaluation.

• Provide guidance, mentoring, and role-modeling for students.

• Effectively work with the daily mental and physical stresses of the job which includes, but is not limited to: meeting deadlines, attending meetings, completing compliance requirements, meeting and working with staff, faculty, students, and the public.

• Promote and maintain collaborative relationships between college and clinical agencies for the clinical placement of Family Nurse Practitioner students.

• Develop and maintain a program of research that includes review of texts and articles, implementation of research evidence, writing, editing, and presenting.

• Engage in other scholarly activities such as reviewing texts and articles or serving in a consulting capacity based on expertise.

• Maintain involvement in professional associations by attending and participating in professional meetings and conferences.

• Work with admissions personnel to oversee recruitment and admission of graduate nursing students.

Required Qualifications

• A doctoral degree is required

• Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio and national board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner

• Completion of an approved registered nursing education program in a jurisdiction as defined in paragraph (S) of rule 4723-5-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code.

• Official transcripts verifying academic preparation

• Two (2) years educational experience at the level of assistant/associate professor and/or clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner

Preferred Qualifications

• Commitment to dual role of FNP track administrator and professor

• Previous academic experience in a university setting

• Online teaching experience

Physical Demands

• Faculty should be available to participate in events important to the ongoing success of the University and College.

• Requires the ability to work indoors in a moderately stressful environment and the ability to adapt to changes in workload. Physical requirements may include frequent sitting, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
