Eastern Idaho Public Health has a
full-time opening in the Idaho Falls office for a
Bilingual (Spanish) Clinical Assistant in the WIC Division
Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing both Spanish and English.
Provides direct customer service on the telephone or in person as a primary part of the job.
Performs paraprofessional clinical duties; establishes and maintains client records, gathers client data and provides health and community program resource information to clients.
Interviews clients to obtain and document detailed personal data including health and dietary information.
Explains services and programs, determines client eligibility, and uses information to establish need and adapt services for clients.
Sets up and maintains WIC clinic area.
Obtains, processes and documents hemoglobin results.
Describes program requirements, client rights, and obligations.
Provides health and nutrition information to groups and individuals using professionally prepared materials.
Distributes program outreach materials.
Contacts clients about program services.
Inputs data into multiple computer programs.
Knowledge of health and nutritional needs of adults and children.
Experience: interviewing and asking detailed questions; recording information accurately and legibly; adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to speak, read and write both English and Spanish fluently.
