We seek applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor appointment (9-month) to begin Fall 2024. At the University of South Carolina, we strive to ensure an inclusive environment that is open, welcoming, and supportive of individuals of all backgrounds.

We encourage applications from candidates who identify with groups that are historically underrepresented and underserved in a range of P-12, university, and community education settings. The successful candidate will join a department dedicated to the use of curriculum that is culturally responsive to all students.
Responsibilities of the successful candidate include: (a) teaching undergraduate and graduate education courses; (b) engaging in curriculum development and research for Elementary education; connecting and developing relationships with local schools; and (d) supporting the service needs of the Elementary Education program, the Teacher Education department, and the College of Education.
Required Education and Experience
Candidates must have an earned PhD or EdD in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field. Experience with online teaching/learning platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Microsoft Teams, Zoom) with an ability to incorporate innovative pedagogies around school- and community-based learning and professional development is required.
Candidates must have excellent teaching skill and the ability to mentor teacher candidates; evidence of a continued record of professional development, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues. Candidates with at least three years of experience working with pre-adolescents/adolescents in schools that serve students from underserved and underrepresented communities will be given strong consideration. Prior experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students is desired.
