Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Children's Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist to support the Division's clinical and academic activities. This position is for a Clinical Assistant Professor, fixed term, 0.5 FTE to 1.0 FTE Academic appointment that will be offered to commensurate and candidates experience.

North Carolina Children's Hospital is a top-tier academic medical center, with a mission to align clinical care, advocacy, research, and education to deliver world-class family-centered care. The Hospital is ranked among the best children's hospitals by US News and World Report, and the Division is accredited by the American Diabetes Association.

The faculty member will report directly to the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and will join a well-established team of medical professionals, including board-certified pediatric endocrinologists, nurse practitioner, clinical pharmacist, pediatric endocrinology fellows and pediatric residents, Certified Diabetes Educators, nutritionists, and nurses who work together to provide the best care to the patients of UNC Children's Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes services.

Clinical duties will include inpatient and outpatient care of children with diabetes and other endocrine disorders. Outpatient clinical activities will occur at the UNC Children's Specialty clinics located in Chapel Hill, NC and Raleigh, NC, along with for regional care at our UNC Health Children's clinic in Wilmington, NC. Involvement in scholarly activity including quality improvement, clinical research, and/or medical education is also expected.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

The successful candidate will be MD or MD/PhD educated and board certified/eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology.
