Position Summary

The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full-time clinical assistant professor to serve as Program Director in the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) Program to begin in Fall 2025.

The Clinical Assistant Professor will have the following

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct graduate and undergraduate courses
  • Mentor professional graduate students in Athletic Training
  • Provide service to the University, state, and/or the field

Program Director duties are compensated separately and include:

  • Manage all aspects of the MSAT Program
  • Work collaboratively with the Coordinator of Clinical Education, MSAT Program faculty, and all Program affiliates
  • Monitor CAATE requirements for compliance with accreditation standards and completion of accreditation documents
  • Perform regular MSAT Program assessments
  • Direct two teaching laboratories, the AT Education Laboratory and the Kinesiology Simulation Laboratory
  • Identify and purchase supplies and equipment needed for laboratory and instruction within the MSAT Program

Additional Requirements

  • Certification and good standing with the Board of Certification
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Georgia at the time of hire
  • NPI number with Athletic Training designation upon appointment
  • A minimum of 2 years clinical practice as an Athletic Trainer
  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching in an Athletic Training curriculum

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

  • 5 years or more of teaching in an Athletic Training curriculum
  • 5 years or more of clinical practice as an Athletic Trainer
  • Evidence of prior experience as an Athletic Training Program Director and/or Coordinator of Clinical Education
  • Evidence of prior Athletic Training student mentorship experience
  • Evidence of contemporary expertise in one or more Athletic Training content areas
