Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

Located in the Northwest of metro Atlanta, Michael J. Coles College of Business is fully accredited by AACSB-International, offers programs in online, hybrid, and face-to-face formats, and serves around 9,000 students. The Michael A. Leven School of Management, Entrepreneurship and Hospitality consists of three majors (Management, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality Management), six minors, two centers, and 40 + faculty with diverse research and teaching interests.

The school supports several graduate programs including MBA, EMBA, and Ph.D. programs, which are nationally recognized. The school also houses Joel A. Katz Music & Entertainment Business Program, Robin and Doug Shore Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center, and Family Enterprise Center, which was recognized as the third most productive center for publishing research in family business journals. The entrepreneurship & innovation center is focused on the incubation of new businesses through student-led initiatives.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Management in the Michael A. Leven School of Management, Entrepreneurship, and Hospitality with a preferred start date of August 2024.This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the leadership of the Leven School and Coles College to lead the Aspiring Community Entrepreneurs (ACE) program.

  • Oversee the administration (operational and financial) of the ACE program.

  • Work with staff to develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns for the ACE Program.

  • Engage with businesses, advisors, and other stakeholders to secure support for the ACE program.

  • Coordinate instructional needs for the ACE program, serving as lead instructor.

  • Teach classes as required at the Leven School.

  • Provide regular program updates to Coles College and the Leven School.

  • Engage with complementary centers/programs across and beyond the university.

  • Provide professional service to the department, college, and university as expected.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • An earned Doctorate, or the foreign equivalent, in business administration, management, entrepreneurship, or a related discipline is required.

NOTE: For ABDs, the required degree must be earned by the start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in small business development and entrepreneurship.

  • Experience in community engagement, preferably working with community leaders and stakeholders in underserved areas.

  • A record of high-quality teaching and research in management and similar topics.

  • Interest, training, and/or experience in hybrid and online teaching modalities is desirable.
