Job Summary:
West Texas A&M University, a member of The Texas A&M University System, invites applications for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Agriculture
Work Performed:
Develop a strong relationship with the WTAMU Graduate School and serve as an academic liaison between the Department of Agricultural Sciences and the Graduate School
Teach courses in area of expertise; teaching may include undergraduate or graduate coursework and face-to-face or online formats
Contribute to online Master of Agriculture (M.Ag.) program
Serve as Advisor to the department's Graduate Student Association
Work closely with faculty and administration to develop and manage effective graduate program standards, procedures, and resources that result in graduate program growth, program quality, and consistency
Active participation in departmental, university, scientific community, and industry service activities
Work collaboratively with WTAMU faculty and campus entities, other agencies and universities, and constituents in the agricultural industry to support regional teaching, research and service needs
Necessary Qualifications:
Ph.D. in an Agriculture field or discipline
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service; experience in online education preferred
Working knowledge and experience in graduate study, research, and graduate student mentorship
Academic, research, or industry experience beyond the Ph.D. is preferred
Commitment to an interdisciplinary team approach to education and research
Desire and ability to establish working relationships with faculty and constituents in multiple agricultural disciplines along with faculty and staff within the WTAMU Graduate School
Leadership skills, effective interpersonal communication, self-motivation, and the ability to thrive in a student-centered environment are essential qualities expected
