Purdue University's White Lodging- J.W. Marriott, Jr.

School of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) is seeking a Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor (non-tenure track) with industry experience in events/hospitality operations (9-month AY appointment). This position provides an opportunity to blend a passion for hospitality operational excellence with a desire to develop future generations of hospitality industry leaders. Applicants must have experience with, and be committed to, excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and student engagement.

Primary Duties

Primary Duties: This individual may be responsible for teaching courses related to hospitality operations and event management, as well as foundational business-related courses including service marketing, financial management, and analytics. The selected individual will also be expected to advise student groups, collaborate with colleagues on curriculum/program development, participate in industry engagement, and departmental service.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• A master's degree in hospitality management, business administration or closely related field from an accredited university is required at the time of employment. A PhD/EdD. is preferred, but not required.

• Prior teaching experience at the community college and/or university level is required, including teaching in an experiential learning environment.

• Applicant must have prior hospitality industry experience. Leadership experience in industry is desired, but not required.
