What you'll do:

Spire Orthopedics, a leading provider in orthopedic care, is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Clinical Applications Specialist with a strong expertise in ModMed's Orthopedic Electronic Health Records (EHR) platform. This role will be focused on enhancing our practices' operational efficiency and patient care quality through the optimization of our EHR software. The ideal candidate will support our team by providing training, workflow analyses and optimization, and implementation support during EHR conversions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an in-house expert on the ModMed Orthopedic EHR system, effectively communicating latest updates and features to users.

  • Train users, support local super-user programs, and maintain Spire's best practices in EHR usage and compliance across all of Spire's locations.

  • Track and communicate changes to clinical systems that will affect operations throughout the enterprise.

  • Keep the IT and clinical management teams informed of the functioning of the EHR within the departments and document any problems.

  • Report, track, and manage open tickets with ModMed Support.

  • Update and maintain training materials and end user documentation used for on-boarding new users.

  • Update and maintain practices' electronic forms and PDFs.

  • Develop and maintain expertise on integrated third-party solutions with ModMed.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants to enhance documentation efficiency and coding accuracy.

  • Analyze current clinical workflows and recommend modifications to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the ModMed EHR system.

  • Work independently to assess and pursue opportunities for improvement across Spire locations.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally across departments (e.g. IT, RCM, Operations) at locations to understand and consider impact of workflow changes to their respective departments.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for interdepartmental projects and meetings

  • Support the technical and strategic aspects of EHR conversions, including planning, execution, and post-implementation review/optimization.

  • Consistently strive to improve knowledge and skills in the development of clinical systems and processes.

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Strong understanding of outpatient clinical processes in an ambulatory setting (orthopedics preferred).

  • Strong understanding of Evaluation & Management and procedure coding in an outpatient clinical setting.

  • Preferred: Prior experience as a superuser of ModMed's Orthopedics specific solution or other Orthopedic-specific EHR.

  • Preferred: Experience with multiple full-cycle EHR implementations and post-live support.

  • Excellent communication and training skills with a clinical audience, capable of conducting both virtual and in-person sessions.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, as well as a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various healthcare professionals and administrators.

  • Flexibility to travel (approximately 25%) and availability for training and EHR conversions.

  • Hybrid role (combination of on-site and remote work).

Education and experience:

  • High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.

  • Two+ years of experience with EMR-related education, end user work, or related field required. Healthcare industry experience preferred.

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, Credentialed Trainer, and/or End User for one or more healthcare applications is strongly preferred.

  • Experience or willingness to learn Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, Teams, Tasks, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Word.
