Job Description Summary:
JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Analyst provides support to clinical & operations teams such as Population Health Services, OhioHealth Primary Care Group, OhioHealth Clinical Enterprise, Employer Solutions, OhioHealthy and other internal stakeholders.
The Clinical Analyst will contribute to the implementation of organizational strategy involving the analysis of large complex healthcare data sets to discover hidden patterns, trends, and association in support of operational and clinical objectives. This role will partner and consult with stakeholders to identify opportunities and apply advanced analytic solutions, understand requirements, and provide effective data analytic solutions.
The Clinical Analyst will provide data support, especially in clinical data query, extraction, and merging from multiple sources such as electronic medical record data, decision support data, clinical quality data, various clinical registries and claims databases. This role will develop and rely on the knowledge of clinical work and data flow, understanding of claims data architecture, and be able to translate ad-hoc customer requests of low/medium complexity into technical requirements to retrieve data, analyze results, and provide timely reports. The person in this role is able to evaluate program interventions utilizing sound statistical techniques. The Clinical Analyst must have exceptional verbal and visual communication skills suitable to all levels of internal stakeholders and external audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Required)
Degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Public Health, Epidemiology, is required.
Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
5 years progressive experience in healthcare operations, healthcare data analysis or other analytical roles
Experience with data mining tools, stats packages (e.g. Excel, SQL, SAS, R, Tableau, Qlik).
Epic Certification (Population Health or Cogito preferred).
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
5+ years utilizing SQL.
5+ years of experience in business analytics
Demonstrated experience using data to drive business decisions
Demonstrated experience in writing data requirements and test specifications
Proficient in the use of Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong knowledge SQL/relational structures.
Population Health or Value Based Care experience
Prior experience in data visualization tools like Qlik Sense, Tableau, or SAS Visual Analytics highly desired.
