The HCA Clinical Services Group is responsible for establishing HCA Clinical Strategic Priorities for HCA to be the recognized leader in care delivery achieving world class outcomes. The CSG purpose is to drive excellent care at scale.

The Clinical Informatics (CI) Systems Governance & Operations team manages and optimizes the EHR across multiple software versions and various vendor platforms in HCA facilities. The CI Clinical Analyst, is a member of the CI Systems Usability team, and will be responsible for the development and maintenance of clinical decision support tools within the EHR.

Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Informatics Systems Optimization this individual will:

  • Design, test, implement, support, maintain, and/or evaluate new or modified health information systems to support patients, and health care professionals.

  • Apply health-related, discipline specific knowledge (e.g., clinical care, healthcare operations) to health information technology systems.

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on any requests for new templates or changes in existing content

  • Manage, track, and document clinical reviews of new content by physician leaders and other clinicians

  • Manage scheduled maintenance and updating of nursing & physician documentation and evidence based order sets (EBOS), including versioning and synchronization of clinical content updates

  • Present data formally and informally and facilitate discussion regarding physician ordering and documentation

  • Jointly, with the help of management, to create quality deliverables and meet stated milestones

  • Work with IT&S Product Development to assure projects and ongoing maintenance/operations occur on schedule

  • Work with IT&S Product Development and CSG SMEs to assure end-user education and communication to the field is well documented

  • Facilitate, lead and document working sessions where operational workflow items are discussed to understand the impact physician ordering and documentation

  • Participate in HCA-wide work teams to identify best practices and determine options and opportunities for optimization in physician ordering and documentation activities

  • Provide continual operational support to field operations teams, assisting in troubleshooting issues when necessary and in a timely manner.

  • Support collaboration of multiple disciplines and working relationships with corporate departments, divisions, and facility leaders.

  • Cross-coordinate with other HCA solutions or projects, and work with other analysts/specialists/coordinators, leadership, and stakeholders

  • Support project teams in integrating physician ordering and documentation activities into their project plans

  • Research new data sources and analytical tools; contribute to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation

  • Ability to participate in multiple activities and tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

OPERATIONS

  • Mange existing nursing & physician documentation templates and evidence based order sets (EBOS) to assure that they are up-to-date, accurate, and efficient

  • Working with IT&S, undertake scheduled template maintenance and develop new templates

  • Monitor usage to identify opportunities to improve templates

  • Work within entire organization to proactively communicate items related to physician ordering and documentation activities

  • Obtain field feedback on usage activities to continuously improve department's outputs

  • Use and understand EHR workflow functions

  • Assist team to organize projects using generally accepted project management standards

  • Support physician ordering/documentation activities of the CSG EHR through participation in team meetings and documentation of work flows

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Hospital clinical experience as an RN.

College Degree.

Experience with EHRs (Meditech, EPIC, Cerner, etc) documentation and ordering functionality & content

VIEW JOBS 3/20/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-18T00:00 Overview Clinical IT Analyst - Laboratory Post Acute Medical (PAM) is a rapidly expanding network of Rehab and LTAC hospitals and we seek a talented Clinical IT Analyst – Laboratory to assist in this expansion. Reporting directly to the VP of Clinical IT, this individual will help build and maintain laboratory and other interfaces to our EHR (Medhost Enterprise). We seek hard working individuals with a positive attitude that are looking for a challenge. This position will require approximately 50% travel. Responsibilities Resaponsibilities * Key person responsible for development, implementation, maintenance, support and enhancement of interface solutions as related to Medhost Enterprise EHR within Rehab and LTAC Hospitals * Communicates with MEDHOST and 3rd parties concerning interface requirements * Regularly meets with users, vendors, and LIS staff to develop/modify system specifications and interfaces. * Monitors and oversees the performance of the laboratory information system to ensure that is it functioning correctly and meeting the needs of the hospital. * Implements all aspects of system requirements, including systems analysis, policy and procedure documentation, test plans, system performance, and clinical user training. * Works with hospital clinical staff to identify the functional capabilities of the specialized software applications, investigate causes of system malfunctions, troubleshoots source of errors. * Working in close coordination with a technical project manager in the build of new lab interfaces between Medhost and a variety of reference labs such as LabCorp. Tracks project status, issues and progress. * Evaluates software and makes recommendations regarding software upgrades and new modules. * Supports a 24/7 operation onsite and remotely via mobile device after hours. Communication * Keeps VP of Clinical IT, or designee informed on the status of all assigned projects on a regular basis. * Maintains open and positive communication lines with the IT Department staff. * Communicate effectively with Vendors. * Advises the VP of Clinical IT, or designee of problems and status of projects related to the SMS or HMS system Customer Service * Maintains the highest level of customer service via courtesy, compassion and positive communication. * Promotes the mission and vision of Post Acute Medical within the work environment and community. * Respects dignity and confidentiality by adherence to all applicable policies and procedures. Qualifications Education and Training: Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of education and experience. Desired: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. A technology-oriented bachelor's degree is desirable. Experience: Three or more years of Laboratory Information Systems experience. MedHost laboratory information system experience a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge of Laboratory system applications (i.e. Gen Lab, Blood Bank, Micro, AP, Dictation, Outreach, etc.) implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices. * Working knowledge of computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including: consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications; design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, coding, debugging, or modification of computer systems or programs based on and related to user design specifications. * Basic knowledge of IS standards and quality methods and metrics. * Basic knowledge of project management methods. * General familiarity of user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the applications. * General familiarity with regulatory requirements that impact Laboratory systems such as JCAHO, CAP, FDA and various state regulations. * Ability to work independently * Organized and dependable * Ability to handle multiple priorities * Possesses a high degree of flexibility regarding schedule/hours rotation * Ability to take initiative and work well under pressure Post Acute Medical Nashville TN
