POSITION SUMMARY:

Clinical Analyst I

  • Assists clients, both internal and external, on the Clinical EHR/EMR application/s.

  • Resolves issues related to configuration, reproduces work ups, triages clinical issues and collects data for escalation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties:

  • Provides clients with expert solutions and updates to complex client issues related to the clinical application(s) during clinic hours and within on-call schedule.

  • Establishes and maintains documentation of products including, but not limited to, training materials, Support documentation and knowledge base articles for primary software and clinical components.

  • Investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves interface problems with other systems including practice management, labs and/or diagnostics.

  • Provides concise status updates and completion information to stakeholders.

  • Completes tasks via ticketing system by telephone voicemail, IM, and email.

  • Diagnoses application issues and determines if data manipulation is required to facilitate the clients request.

  • Assists clients with use of the softwares functionality to accomplish desired task or results in their clinical workflow.

  • Escalates issues to another resource if a direct database solution is required.

  • The documentation, analysis, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications.

  • The application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications.

  • The documentation, testing, or modification of computer programs related to machine operating systems.

Other Duties:

  • Provides feedback to management on ways to improve efficiencies.

  • Follows guidelines in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, and the Service Level Agreements.

  • Performs other duties as defined by the Technical & Installation Services Management team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Handles large volumes of email (approximately 25 to 50 emails daily.)

  • Is skilled in collecting, analyzing, and summarizing EHR data.

  • Uses industry knowledge to identify and obtain resources and/or services needed to assist others

  • Has knowledge of industry casework, theory, technique and application.

  • Exhibits knowledge of the theories, dynamics, and factors underlying clinical processes.

  • Moderate knowledge of concepts, principles and practices in the various elements of clinical workflow.

  • Moderate knowledge of labs and lab testing processes.

  • Has knowledge of, and skill in, interpretation and application of clinical terms and workflow.

Preferred:

  • HL7 knowledge

  • HIPAA knowledge

  • Skilled in researching, analyzing and developing assessments from multiple data sources

  • Advanced knowledge of concepts, principles and practices in the various elements of clinical workflow

  • Advanced knowledge of labs and lab testing processes

  • Advanced knowledge of hemodialysis workflow

  • Knowledge of pharmacology associated with infection prevention and control

  • Knowledge of hospital acquired infections and NHSN reporting requirements

  • Knowledge and/or experience in infection prevention and control

  • Microbiology knowledge

Education:

Required:

  • High School or GED

Preferred:

  • Associates/bachelors degree in Clinical Informatics, Microbiology, Pharmacy or Healthcare IT related degrees or equivalent experience and/or education

Certification(s), Licenses:

Required: At least one of the following:

  • CPht, RPht, MLT-C, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) or similar related field(s) or equivalent experience and/or education

Preferred:

  • CompTIA Healthcare IT Certification

  • Microsoft Server Certification(s)

  • CompTIA A+ Certification

  • ITIL Certification

Years of experience in a similar role:

Required:

  • 2+ years of working experience within:

  • Client application troubleshooting or client-facing activities

  • Troubleshooting and configuring applications

  • A hand on clinical work role, in one or more areas of: Pharmacy, Laboratory, Microbiology, Cultures, Inpatient Healthcare, Health Department, Infection Prevention, Dialysis or Informatics

Preferred:

  • 4+ years of working experience within:

  • Client application troubleshooting or client-facing activities

  • Troubleshooting and configuring Windows-based applications.

  • Troubleshooting and configuring applications

  • An inpatient healthcare setting

  • A hand on clinical work role, in one or more areas of: Pharmacy, Laboratory, Microbiology, Cultures, Inpatient Healthcare, Health Department, Infection Prevention, Dialysis or Informatics

  • 1+ years of working experience within:

  • Software application troubleshooting or training

  • Electronic Medical Record Systems, or hospital IT systems

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential Duties: * Acts as a SME during assigned software testing including clinical quality management functionality of the product * Uses technical savvy as a Clinician and understanding of Clinical workflow to contribute to testing innovation level software. * Practices DSS's process management of Agile/Scrum and related tools (Jira, qTest and Confluence) * Ensures all aspects of software is working properly prior to review, acceptance and release of deliverables * Collaborates with internal resources to establish and improve resource knowledge base (Confluence and SharePoint). * Acts as a SME to existing and new staff in the QA Department.
