The Clinical Admissions provides direct patient care under the direction and supervision of provider, registered nurse, or clinical care coordinator.
This position is in Preadmission Testing where you will obtain vital signs, height & weight, EKGs and blood draws in preparation for surgery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtains and accurately record patient's vital signs
Documents components of patient's history
Communicates in an open and appropriate manner with patients, visitors and staff
Performs venipuncture to obtain blood for lab testing
Preps patient's chart for pertinent clinical information
Maintains inventory of supplies, and keeps patient examination rooms stocked
Adheres to AMC's regulatory compliance issues

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. - required
Minimum of 1 year of continuous experience as a Medical Assistant
Ability to improve job performance through continuing education.
Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem‐solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
Able to communicate cooperatively and effectively with patients, family members, employees, and others.
Ability to listen well, take direction and engage in interactive dialogues with others.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as the patient record, safety rules and procedure documents.
Articulates clear findings with staff and members of the patient care team.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Identifies problems, gathers data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions.
