JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Gains supervised practical experience by actively participating in one (1) or more projects for Samaritan Health Services. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION SHS Orthopedics offers generalized and specialized orthopedic surgery including shoulder, elbow, wrist (carpal tunnel/trigger finger) and hand surgery. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Current enrollment or recent graduate in an Associate#s or Bachelor#s degree program related to area of project(s) required. GSR#Orthopedics Hand to Shoulder: # # # a.Students currently in a gap year preferred. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work schedule for this position : (i.e. regular weekdays, or rotating, holiday coverage, shifts) *Regular, predictable and punctual attendance based on assigned schedule is an essential job function. Work hours depend on business hours of assigned clinic. May include evening or weekend hours for some offices. GSR Orthopedics Hand#### Shoulder:# 8am- 5pm Monday through Friday KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Service Orientation- Successfully apply knowledge of various resources/models of recovery to assist and care for others.# Clerical- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.# Confidentiality- Knowledge of State and Federal (HIPAA) laws pertaining to confidentiality of protected health information. Ability to comply with laws and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Time Management#- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure. Team Building- Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team.
