The Clinic Services Coordinator will serve as a primary point of contact for the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health (SCSMH) clinic with the community, faculty, staff, and students, including via in-person, phone, and written communication and will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment. The person in this position will be responsible for scheduling appointments, maintaining confidentiality of clinic written and verbal communications, and providing administrative support to clinic staff.

Appointment: Full time, P&S Specified Term Appointment. Possibility for renewal. Initial term through June 30, 2025.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Specific Job Duties and Tasks
Answer and triage telephone and email correspondence for the clinic.
Greet clients and check them in for clinical services.
Manage confidential clinical records (both paper and digital).
Coordinate appointment scheduling for clinic using an electronic health record and Microsoft Teams.
Maintain SCSMH Clinic equipment and workrooms. Monitor supplies and initiate orders for replacements. Receive supplies and restock storage cabinets. Troubleshoot equipment problems and initiate service calls when needed.
Act as frontline liaison, providing welcoming customer service to external and internal clients regarding inquiries and requests, requiring discretion and independent judgment.
Provide administrative support to the director and other clinic staff.
Provide primary office coverage during standard office hours in coordination with other support staff.
May interview, hire, assign duties to and evaluate student support staff.

About the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health
The Scanlan Center for School Mental Health is the state's hub for school-based mental health research, training, professional learning, and clinical services. We work with schools, districts, AEAs, universities/colleges, and key stakeholders across the state to support the well-being of PreK-12 students and educators as well as college students and faculty.
A partnership between the University of Iowa College of Education and the Iowa Department of Education, the Scanlan Center for School Mental Health launched in June 2021 with an ambitious mission - to provide social, emotional behavioral, and psychological services to all of Iowa's schools across 99 counties, not only to aid in COVID-19 recovery but to build state capacity for immediate and future delivery of mental health supports.
Education Requirement
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of administrative processes and associated operating requirements and experience working with a customer service focus; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to various situations. Experience typical of 1 year.
Knowledge of and ability to use office support tools available on the desktop (e.g., word processing, e-mail, video conferencing, presentation software and spreadsheets).
Ability to work with and build effective relationships with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and civil manner while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals.
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and interpret ideas, information, and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors at a working proficiency level.
Ability to independently problem solve, work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to details.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with working in a medical or mental health setting and understanding the associated privacy laws.
Experience using an electronic medical record.
