    CHI St. Alexius Health is looking for a responsible and compassionate LPN with top-notch clinical skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This position will be working in our Family Practice Clinic. It is also important to display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively educate patients and their families on the in-home healthcare process.

As a LPN, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient's individual physician. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, Licensed Practical Nurse functions as a vital member of the healthcare team who contributes to the success of the practice by demonstrating customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism, and teamwork. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.

  • Additional responsibilities for this health care role include:*

  • Performs basic nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.

  • Collects patient data such as vital signs; notes how the patient looks and acts, or responds to stimuli, and reports this information accordingly.

  • Prepares and administers injections, performs routine tests, treats wounds, and changes bandages.

  • Prepares patient records and files using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.

  • Administers certain prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.

  • Minimum Qualifications*

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing program.

  • Must have current/valid Licensed Practical Nurse license from the North Dakota state licensing board or compact license to practice in North Dakota.

  • Preferred Qualifications*

  • 1 year experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities Be a part of CHI St. Alexius Health's General Medical Clinic as an Office Assistant. This position will performs front office processes associated with patient check-in, check-out, scheduling, referrals, and electronic medical records. Administers and supports the clinic's billing, and insurance functions, in accordance with internal standards and procedures, and regulatory requirements.Customer service and attention to details are essenital for this position! Additional responsiblites may include but not limited to.... * Perform patient check-in at the time of visit; interviews patients and completes all paperwork necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient, and all clinic and regulatory policies are in compliance. * Copy/scan patient medical records, benefit/insurance information, and related hardcopy materials (e.g. ID, referrals, insurance cards, etc.) into the correct location in the electronic medical record system. * Perform patient check-out including pricing services, coding of procedures performed, and diagnosis on charge, to accurately support the need and documentation for each service. * Collect patient responsibility payments, and answer routine patient insurance and billing inquiries. * Answer phone calls, confirm next day appointments, ensure insurance coverage, and alert patients as to what documentation is needed, including details associated with time-of-service payment schedules. * Gather, verify, and process referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications by working closely with physician(s), patients, and payers. * Coordinate scheduling with that of the practitioners' schedules to ensure proper coverage of patient appointments and out-of-office calls. * Retrieve, file, and maintain charts and medical record documentation according to office protocol; coordinate copies of medical documentation with physician charges to support billing to third-party payers. * Manage the flow of interdepartmental, outgoing, and incoming mail. * Communicate requests and provide medical information to and from patient care providers in strict accordance with HIPPA and all policies and procedures. * Follow up with patients regarding the Missed Appointment Policy and send out the appropriate communications. * Perform other duties as assigned.
