This posting serves to establish interested candidates for current open positions at the following locations: Covenant

  • Southwest Medical Park, HealthPlus, Sleep Center, Wolfforth Clinic, Grace Clinic, Joe Arrington Cancer Center

The status of the position and shift will vary depending on the location.

There are 3 different shifts; day, evening and overnight. The work hours vary based on location; 8 hour, 10 hour, and 12 hour shifts.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrates the ability to transfer scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences in applying the nursing process.

  • Gives patient education and instruction as directed by the physician (to include but not limited to, judgments and decisions on phone calls, advising patients with physician guidelines, procedures preparation, in-home care.)

  • Perform clerical duties to include appointment scheduling, chart maintenance, x-ray and lab scheduling, routing all test results to physician, and reporting results to patients.

  • Responsible for room and patient preparation per clinic/physician guidelines. Patient assessment, vital signs, history/present illness, allergies, medication, and visual acuity on general physicals as requested.

  • Administers specified medication and injection, and documentation on patient medical chart. Administers prescribed procedures, including but not limited to, catheterization, throat cultures, suture removal, specimen collection, ear irrigation, wound and burn dressing.

    Applies orthopedic devices, arm slings, leg, ankle, wrist, and shoulder splints, and rib belts. Instruct in use of crutches.

  • Maintaining patient care area. Restocking supplies, exam rooms, ordering medication, and maintaining drug supplies according to system policies.

    Maintains work area in neat and organized manner. Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to JACHO and other regulatory requirements.

To qualify for a Clinic Licensed Vocational Nurse:

Minimum Qualifications:

License / Certification: Current Texas or New Mexico L.V.N license required

Preferred Qualifications:
BLS certification

Accurately identifies and determines priority of the patient's needs/problems, anticipating emergencies and complications of pathology. 5. Administers all medications and treatments according to system policy and physician guidelines. 6. Oversees and assists with appointment scheduling, lab and x-ray scheduling, routing all test results to physician, and reporting results to patients. 7. Provides patient education and instruction as directed by the physician to include but not limited to, judgments and decisions on phone calls, advising patients with physician guidelines, procedure preparation, and in-home care. 8. Maintains and reviews patient charts, records, and other pertinent information. 9. Maintains patient care area and work area in neat and organized manner. Assists in ordering of supplies, medications, stocking examination rooms, and adhering to JCAHO and other regulatory requirements. Is responsible for equipment preparation and maintenance review. Minimum Position Qualifications: Education: Candidates must meet the criteria to sit for the NCLEX examination and become licensed in the State of Texas. Experience: One year of nursing experience License / Certification: Current licensure in Texas or an approved compact state as a Registered Nurse or proof of application for licensure.
