Be a key support player to a busy clinic setting as a Clinic Coordinator supporting multiple surgery departments with high level customer service and efficient operations. Be the face of the department for patients and families during check-in and arrival. We are seeking individuals with Medical Terminology knowledge and prior front office experience for this 6 Month Contract Role in Minneapolis, MN.

Job Duties of a Clinic Coordinator:

Provide top notch customer service while promoting the organizational philosophy of patient-centered care to meet needs of patients and families during clinic visits.

Greet and welcome patients and families during check-in and arrival process.

Determine patient s intake status, checking the patient's itinerary.

Assist patient directly to complete tablet information, if the itinerary is not complete.

Maintain awareness of multiple competing situations, prioritize, and assure patients/guests needs are met while maintaining a pleasant, friendly demeanor.

Answer guest questions pertaining to directions, phone numbers, personal services, transportation, and more.

Coordinate schedules for future appointments and procedures following a patient visit with providers.

Requirements of a Clinic Coordinator:

Post HS education or training with basic medical terminology and keyboarding skills.

Proven ability to learn job skills and patient services. Excellent customer service skills.

Proven ability to accurately schedule an appointment and interpret provider orders.

Knowledge of Environment of Care and Infection control policies is a plus.

Prior clerical experience in a medical setting, and prior data entry is preferred.

Must be able to type 35 wpm, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to work with diverse populations, and make accommodations as necessary.

Must be a flexible team player, and be able to perform a wide variety of front desk functions.

Should be good at multi-tasking, critical thinking and problem-solving.

This position is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with adverse health conditions, and providing education to patients and families within scope of practice and in collaboration with the supervising/collaborating physician. RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide direct primary and acute care services to adult and/or pediatric patients as part of the primary care inter-disciplinary team in the ambulatory department * Perform initial and on-going assessment of patients' medical, physical and psychosocial status * Obtain and evaluate health and medical history; perform physical exam, conduct preventive screening procedures based on age and history * Identify medical and health risks * Complete accurate and timely documentation of observations, interventions, plan of care, referrals and follow-up * Formulate appropriate differential diagnosis based on history, physical examination and diagnostic testing * Identify needs of the individual, family or community and develop a plan of care and/or education plan * Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic tests, therapeutic treatments; may prescribe, administer and dispense therapeutic devices and legend drugs * Make appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community agencies * Reassess and modify the plan as necessary to achieve medical and health goals * For the department of pediatrics performs evaluations, including pertinent history and physical exam on patients assigned to include normal newborn babies in the nursery * Contribute to on-going medical and nursing staff teaching programs * Develop a patient education plan relevant to the condition and patient/ family needs * Participate in performance improvement activities as assigned * Adhere to productivity standards established by the department * Assess need for personal growth and development and take the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need * Foster a service that is consistent with the family-centered care and shared management philosophy of the department * Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment * Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/ unit team inter-departmentally to facilitate the department's/ unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives * Perform other related duties but only after appropriate training Inpatient* SUMMARY A licensed provider of direct patient centered care in accordance with the Office of the Medical Director at Hennepin County Medical Center and the Minnesota State Board of Nursing. The Certified Nurse Practitioner evaluates, diagnoses, provides treatment and education to patients and their families for a variety of healthcare needs. RESPONSIBILITIES * Provides direct patient care to an assigned patient population * Works collaboratively and in consultation with the medical staff as indicated by the patient health status and medical condition * Appropriately refers patients to other health care providers or agencies * Obtains patient and family health history * Performs a physical examination appropriate to patient age and history * Assesses patient health status and creates a plan of care in collaboration with the patient * Reassesses and modifies the plan of care as needed to achieve medical and health promotion goals * Provides patient and family education appropriate to the patient and family needs * Proves appropriate screening and education for primary prevention of disease * Provides appropriate screening, management and education for secondary and tertiary disease prevention and management * Orders, conducts and interprets diagnostic tests * Orders, prescribes, administers, and dispenses therapeutic devices or legend drugs * Completes accurate and timely documentation of history, examination, assessment, plan of care and other observations as indicated * Participates in performance improvement projects * Contributes to ongoing medial and nursing staff education * Initiates and participates in research projects * Supports new and existing programs, which expand the organization's role in the community * Serves as a clinical resource to hospital staff * Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of ongoing service programs that ensure quality nursing and patient care programs consistent with the hospital's mission * Maintains current Registered Nurse licensure and appropriate * Advanced Practice Nurse Certification * Assesses the need for personal growth and development and take initiative in seeking opportunities to meet those needs QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: * Master's degree in Nursing or in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program * Knowledge of electronic medical documentation software/systems * Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota * Previous experience within family medicine as an FNP or PA preferred Hennepin County Medical Center Minneapolis MN
