Rogers Behavioral Health, a nationally recognized leader in behavioral health services, is seeking a Clinic Assistant to join our team.

The Clinic Assistant performs receptionist and clerical responsibilities related to clinic operations. You will coordinate patient information, and maintain confidentiality of patient files at all times.

In conjunction, you will promote a favorable workspace by answering telephones politely, distributing mail, and keeping supplies in stock. Be the face of Rogers, as you are the first impression for patients and visitors of the clinic!

In addition to the above, ideal candidates will possess:

  • High school diploma required.

  • Previous experience working in a psychiatric setting is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Participates in department strategic planning and contributes to its success through effectively communicating goals and expectations to staff. Ensures effective use of system resources. Provides functional expertise essential to staff and leadership. Ensures expenses do not exceed budget. Participates in standards of practice and process improvement activities. Oversees staffing matrices and possesses authority to hire, conduct performance evaluations, and discipline employees. Ensures policy and procedures are followed by staff. Essential Functions of the Job: 1. Responsible for the daily operations of the patient care units or departments in an efficient and cost effective manner, including creating and managing staffing plans and ensuring appropriate equipment and resources are available to staff to do their job. 2. Creates and maintains an environment that assures nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. 3. Ensures the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care. 4. Contributes to strategic planning of business units. 5. Coordinates the ongoing development and productivity of the physician office practices. 6. Provides leadership and direction to staff to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations, quality outcomes, and internal and external customer service. 7. Responsible for entire scope of department/location, including facilities management, where appropriate. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Quality and Performance Improvement Management: Provides leadership to ensure high performance standards including patient and service excellence. Leads and facilitates change initiatives and acts as change agent by developing enthusiasm within staff for unit and programmatic improvements. Seeks opportunities for improvement and demonstrates creative thinking. Facilitates performance improvement initiatives with unit/team; uses Scripps performance objectives to drive performance improvement initiatives. 1. May collaborate with other system hospitals, medical staff and/or functional lines to maintain and improve quality of patient care in assigned units and programs. 2. Develops, implements and monitors systems to ensure best practice in assigned areas and programs. 3. Ensures occurrence reports, sentinel events and other problem prone areas are analyzed and systems are designed or re-designed and implemented when appropriate. 4. Supports opportunities for quality improvement based on outcome measure to other internal auditing processes and ensure implementation of action plans to meet quality improvement targets. Reviews customer/patient satisfaction and develops action plans as needed. 5. Ensures compliance with State, Federal, Joint Commission or any applicable regulations. Finance Management: Supports strategies to achieve financial targets by managing resources effectively and maximizing the use of technology. 1. Works closely with director to identify and correct budget variances in assigned departments and programs and oversees implementation of operational adjustments to achieve budget goals. 2. Leads cost-reduction efforts. 3. Monitors budget as directed. Workforce Management: Ensures appropriate staffing levels. Facilitates teamwork and unit pride. Ensures staff turnover meets system goals through: 1. Demonstrates and ensures fair and consistent treatment of staff 2. Develops and coaches staff to improve communication, teamwork and operations within the assigned departments and programs. 3. Ensure the competence and performance of staff is regularly assessed, maintained and improved. 4. Promotes safe work environment and ensures worker injury claims meet annual goal. 5. Forecasts labor and services in accordance with hospital and system-wide goals. 6. Ensures recruitment and retention to achieve appropriate staffing for area of responsibility. 7. Encourages participation, analyzes results, develops & monitors action plans for employee climate surveys. 8. Participates in and/or develops strategic planning initiatives that support the system and organizational-based leadership teams. 9. Represents SYH mission and values in all relevant activities. Job Requirements: Education Required (Minimum level of education): Bachelor's/Master's degree or MSN preferred. Certification in area of specialty preferred if applicable. Certifications/Licenses Preferred: Maintains Current California RN license. Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification or American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and all competencies/certifications required of the charge RN on the unit. Experience Required (Minimum level of experience): Associate's Degree plus five years applicable clinical experience, two of which in a leadership role. Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through. Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care. Graduate of an accredited program. Applicable experience in a healthcare environment and three years of leadership experience. Ability to effectively manage healthcare business and operational practices. Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and other applicable systems.
