The Clinic Access Representative 1 (Front desk position) is responsible for accurately registering patients in EMR including validating patient information, verification of insurance coverage, collection of required payments and ensuring the patient#s experience is best in class.#Monitors patient schedules and reviews accounts to determine the patient#s financial responsibility on account balance and arranges payment plans to collect. Assists patients with access to government and community resources to enhance their access to health care services.

Accurately and efficiently registers patients in Epic; monitors and manages the flow of patients through the clinic utilizing initiative to ensure the patient experience is best in class. Works closely with physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing staff to ensure that referrals to other providers/services/facilities are completed in accordance with payor requirements in a timely manner. Facilitates the patient#s access to information including but not limited to MyChart access.

Actively supports clinic, hospital and health system initiatives related to improvement in the day-to-day operations. Manages cash in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure that payments are accurately credited to the patients# accounts and cash is maintained in a secure manner. Position

Requirements:

Experience 6 months experience in a customer service/front desk role or a graduate of a front office/medical office program. Bachelor#s degree may substitute for experience. Skills Professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task, critical thinking, demonstrated computer literacy, ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in Epic during the introductory period. Assists physician, nurse, and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and patient access. Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, procedures, tests and referrals. May serve as a preceptor for clinical staff. Relies on guidelines to accomplish tasks. Relies on some experience and judgment to complete job. Works under general supervision. May lead and direct the work of others within scope of practice. Observes, records and reports (to physician) patient#s condition and reaction to drugs and/or treatments. Instructs patient/family regarding diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and health/wellness issues. Performs selected nursing duties, including documenting patient history, vital signs, immunizations and allergies. Prepares, stocks and cleans exam room and maintains supplies and equipment for treatment. Provides complex and basic nursing care measures to all age groups. Assists physician with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Responsible for appointment and referral scheduling, chart management, providing information and instructions to patients, and coordinating patient flow. Administers prescribed medications/treatments in accordance with nursing standards. May perform phlebotomy and EKG#s and assist with flex sigmoidoscopies. Observes and adheres to all departmental and hospital policies and procedures, and follows all safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards. Education Graduate of an accredited LPN school Required - Experience working with and maintaining confidential information and working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
