OHSU Dermatology is located in the Center for Health & Healing on the South Waterfront in Portland, Oregon. The Department of Dermatology is dedicated to providing our patients the best and most innovative dermatologic care for the broad range of skin, hair, nail, and mucous membrane disorders.

  • Salary Range: $19.40 - $22.82 per hour

  • Location: Portland, OR (South Waterfront/Portland Metro area)

Functions/Duties of Position

The Client Services Representative 1 is responsible for all aspects of customer service in a commercial laboratory setting. This position answers routine client questions regarding test offering, logistics, test ordering, and test order status. Work closely with clients and assigned Sales Force staff to ensure customer satisfaction. Ensure high quality lab work by efficient communication of laboratory test turn-around-times and testing status information to clients.The position also provides day-to-day technical support for testing performed in the laboratory, answers phone calls, maintains laboratory supplies and prepares requisitions and reports for departmental leadership. The employee in this position participates in troubleshooting and process improvement with the pre-analytical team. As part of the pre-analytical team, the position is responsible for specimen accessioning, specimen information entry into the patient database, and distribution to the appropriate laboratory department.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree and 2 years experience in a customer service role and familiarity with medical terminology; OR 4 years experience in a customer service role and familiarity with medical terminology

  • 1 year clinical or research lab experience

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems

  • Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal

Group benefit meetings include presentation of the group's medical and optional benefits, administrative procedures, provider networks, and access to other services provided by the client's plan benefits.Receive, analyze, and respond to client issues with appropriate follow-up on specific customer requests, including administration questions, supply requests, problem resolution, and intricate claims issues.Serve as client contact and problem solver for a wide scope of contract issues relating to medical, dental, pharmacy, and optional benefits offered by PacificSource.Write, proof, and distribute account service reports to the producer of record.Identify selling opportunities for PacificSource, Manley, and PacificSource Administrators, United Heritage, and other ancillary products.Represent PacificSource, both internally and externally, as required at events, including but not limited to: Forum, Underwriters State Conference, Business Expo, Chamber of Commerce, and all other community activities or volunteer opportunities. Supporting Responsibilities: As requested, participate in and lead company benefit training programs.Regional office Client Service Representatives may be required to assist with clerical duties for efficient administrative office functions.Perform other related duties as requested or required. Qualifications Work Experience: Minimum of three or more years related work experience in a professional environment. Health insurance or producer experience preferred. Solid customer service experience is required. Education, Certificates, Licenses: Requires AA/AS in Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. BS in Business Administration or related field is preferred. Current Life and Health license (or eligible to earn license) as a Life & Health Insurance Sales Producer.
