The Opportunity

Cognizant's Banking & Financial Services (BFS) Vertical is seeking a Client Services Executive to be actively involved in continuing to grow our BFS footprint and assist the Client Partner (CP) in growing key Financial Services accounts. In this role, the Client Services Executive will balance client/project responsibilities with business development and sales responsibilities including identifying, qualifying and closing new business opportunities. The position also requires working with and leveraging a top-notch client management and consulting team. The individual will be responsible for overseeing high quality delivery while developing strategies and tactics for further penetrating the account and cross selling CTS's emerging services. The Client Services Executive will support the CP in achieving "trusted advisor" status and have a mix of strategic and tactical management experience.


Market Leadership: creates sales strategies and plan for the Client Partners review and for its incorporation into the broader client strategy and plan.

Relationship Management: executes and manages the account plan under the guidance of the Client Partner. Invests time in strengthening existing client relationships. Participates in reviews and provides educated and relevant perspectives.

Business Development: responds to and deliver on client requests; responds to RFP's. Identifies opportunities, makes proactive proposals to client in line with account strategy. Obtains the approvals to pursue opportunities. Engage the relevant team for solutions.


The qualified candidate will have:

  • 15 + years of proven track record of growing a successful consulting business in the Banking and Financial Services industry.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Concepts of finance, marketing and business strategy.

  • Business acumen, communication and drive results.

  • Build relationships: strengthening partnerships by focusing on exceptional client experience, risk management and value realization built on the foundation of Cognizant leadership capabilities.

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, particularly with highly diverse teams.

  • Deep knowledge of Information Systems/Business Consulting Methodologies.

  • Ability to grow into having a senior executive presence possesses an interest and passion toward engaging senior level executives in grasping and enabling fundamentals of business change through consulting solutions.

  • Experience and track record in successful delivery of technical/ management consulting services, preferably gained at a top tier consulting firm.

  • Executive-level experience in the areas of resource management (financial, cost and asset), preferably with a mix of consulting and operations experience.

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

  • Exceptional client management skills and experience.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual and highly-matrixed environment.

This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA and will serve as the key local leadership responsible for office start-up operations and growing our business in this area. In this capacity, you will have responsibilities that include overseeing the administration of the Pittsburgh office, sales, client development, client relationship management, professional engineering services, proposal writing and contract scope, schedule and price preparation, and client service team leadership. In this role you will also be part of a broader and very effective team of comparable peers throughout the Northeast geographic area. Detailed Description: In this position you will work closely with the Northeast Area Leader and other team members to help lead the development and execution of the Northeast business plan and meet company objectives including growth, profitability and diversification targets in the area and East Region. You will help develop new key clients each year in connection with planned targets and with the assistance of other senior staff in the region. As the Local Leader, you will manage the day to day operations of the new Pittsburgh office. Additional responsibilities will include: * Provide marketing and technical leadership during the procurement and execution of key projects * Lead projects related to related to water, wastewater treatment plant planning, studies, and design * Drive project execution activities to meet revenue and performance goals * Execute sales plan in collaboration with other CSMs, Office Leaders, and the Area Leader * Recruit new talent and provide leadership in a growing office * Prepare and review technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents and deliverables * Supervise and coordinate the work of others on projects including remote design staff to ensure proper and timely execution on projects * Resolve client issues in a professional and appropriate manner, and promote/insure project execution and delivery * Maintain liaison with clients, BC regional and national technical practitioners, and jurisdictional agencies * Help mentor, and provide direction for less experienced staff Desired Skills and Experience: * S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental etc.) required; M.S. degree in related engineering field with a focus on wastewater and water preferred * Professional registration in Pennsylvania, or the credentials to obtain registration in a timely manner is also required * 12 or more years of increasingly-responsible experience with previous project management experience required * Experience with water/wastewater design, planning and studies along with leadership on projects * Ability to successfully manage clients and projects in a collaborative fashion and interface with Brown and Caldwell's local, regional, and national water and wastewater practitioners as well as help mentor junior staff * Self-starter, results-oriented and be able to work under tight deadlines * Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience a plus * Previous supervisory experience with strong written and verbal communication skills required About Brown and Caldwell Headquartered in Walnut Creek, Calif., Brown and Caldwell is a full-service environmental engineering and construction firm with 52 offices and 1,700+ professionals across North America and the Pacific.
