  • Client Sales Executive - Clinical Research*

Seeking experienced healthcare development professionals for our growing Clinic Research Provider Network Development team. This role applies business relationship management skills to establish, maintain and enhance relationships with clinical healthcare providers in order to expand provider and patient participation in our Allscripts Clinical Trials Network.

preferred locations are Richmond, VA or Raleigh, NC. Exceptional remote candidates will be considered.


  • Perform marketing, relationship building and development activities for an assigned geographic area to achieve or exceed assigned objectives (e.g, increasing the number of Allscripts providers participating in the Clinical Research Network program). Using consultative selling and relationship building skills, initiates contact with healthcare providers (e.g, physicians and administrators) and key staff to engage research partners, source needs, and recommend service solutions.

  • Establish and maintain strong long-term relationships with physicians and healthcare facility administrators in the assigned territory. Identifies, develops, and implements marketing, outreach plans, presentations, and strategies designed to develop new Clinical Trials or partner referral relationships

  • Facilitate the successful onboarding of new clients/clinics

  • Develop client/clinic specific action plans to ensure key expectations are met and communicated

  • Works collaboratively with physicians and practice administrators in identifying, initiating, establishing, maintaining and improving physicians and practice relationships.

  • Works with practice management team to ensure timely resolution based on physician practice feedback. Recommends business solutions to resolve market and/or partner issues.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for the ongoing high-level/strategic relationship with the client related to the Clinical Trial/Research Network

  • Strengthen Allscripts position within the client by expanding our relationship across key personnel and decision makers

  • Coordinates and collaborates with key Allscripts Operations, Sales, Account Executive, and other personnel to best service the client. Recommends and executes complex/tailored business solutions to resolve client, market and/or partner issues. Communicate operational updates regarding client and user satisfaction.

  • Develops a thorough understanding of regional business conditions and participants, relating to the industry, market participants, potential partners, competition, and relevant business trends. Identifies future growth opportunities for new services. Relays physician feedback and market trends data to Allscripts Solutions Management leadership. Recommends product enhancements and solutions to address market and/or partner issues or opportunities.

  • Contribute to the development of material targeted at maximizing provider and patient recruitment initiatives from the physician and patient perspectives

  • Responsible for ensuring the efficient adherence to certain administrative duties, including timely completion of expense reports, use of automation tools such as CRM, detailed metric reporting and analysis, and business planning. Responsible for managing travel expenses within guidelines and budget.


Academic and Professional

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or equivalent experience


  • Knowledge of and experience working within the clinical research and development market and an understanding of the clinical trial process.

  • Experience, comfort and successful interactions with physicians, nurses, other medical professionals, and healthcare provider office administrators.

  • Understanding of patient recruitment process for clinical trials including functions at a trial site or CRO and the patient screening and recruiting process

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), CRM (e.g. Salesforce), and databases.

  • Proven ability to prioritize opportunities and convert those into a successful strategy for developing, maintaining, and improving relationships with clinical healthcare providers.

Travel Requirements:

  • 50-75% overnight, out-of-town travel required

Working Arrangements:

  • Work is performed in a standard office, or home office, environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards
