Tully Rinckey PLLC is an international law firm seeking a Client Relations Associate to join our Albany, NY office. The Client Relations Associate works with potential clients to educate them about how the firm can best resolve legal matters by facilitating the attorney consultation process. The ideal candidate should have excellent inside sales abilities, exceptional communication and client services skills with a proficiency in business development. The Client Relations Associate will be accomplished at multi-tasking and have experience with telephone work in a sales-oriented or call center environment.

This positon offers a flexible work schedule, including night and weekend hours. The ideal candidate is able to work at least one night per week and at least one Sunday per month.


  • Use inside sales, client development, customer service, and business development skills to educate potential clients on the firms attorneys, legal services, and practice areas;

  • Document and log potential clients in a CRM database;

  • Facilitate consultations with attorneys;

  • Take payments and draft/send retainers for attorneys;

  • Resolve client/customer service concerns; and

  • Achieve departmental sales, client development, and customer service goals.


  • Sales, inside sales, client development, account executive, customer service, and/or call-center experience preferred;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Ability to multi-task in a results-driven environment;

  • Experience with CRM database(s) is preferred;

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

S/he will provide direction and expertise to prevent and mitigate employee risk and ensure compliance with governmental and other regulations. S/he will contribute to the development of employee relations strategies and policies. Responsibilities: * Advises and counsels on complex issues in an effort to reduce complaints, charges, litigation and related costs. * Advises and counsels on complex performance management and other ER issues (restructuring, policy violations, EAP issues, etc.) * Investigate employment related discrimination complaints internally to minimize risk/liability and to create a more positive work environment. * Conducts and oversees investigations and responds to complaints of alleged harassment, discrimination and Title VII, ADA, ADEA or Equal Pay Act complaints filed with various state and federal agencies as necessary. * Partner with Employment Attorneys on employment related lawsuits. From strategy to preparation of supporting documentation. * Lead and/or participate in the development of competitive business aligned HR policies (vacation, performance management, Family Medical Leave, tuition reimbursement, Paid time off, sexual harassment, etc.) * Lead projects to include research, analysis and preparation of presentations on proposed policy or practice changes. * Provide policy interpretation advice. * Partner with Employee Experience team on the development of Initiatives including Diversity, Work/Life & Employer of Choice. * Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility. * Contributes to the strategy development for Employee Relations and EEO issues/concerns * Provides solutions and advises on employee relations strategies and risks including, but not limited to employee terminations, adverse impact, severance & outplacement services, employee engagement, conflict resolution, and investigatory techniques. * Conduct training on ER related topics (professional conduct, handling performance issues, EEO highlights, policies and pitfalls, etc.) * Create ER tools for Managers and HR Business Partners (Warning Templates, Investigation letter templates, Investigation guidelines, Job Abandonment letter templates, attendance guideline options, etc.) Basic Qualifications: * Minimum 10 years of human resources experience with at least 5 years of employee relations experience. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's or advanced degree. * A hands-on team player who can operate effectively as a member of HR team; someone with superior interpersonal and communications skills who can also forge effective working relationships with individuals at all levels throughout the Company and help it better understand the employee relations implications of its operations. * A proactive professional with strong consultative skills and the ability to demonstrate flexibility, creativity, conceptual ability and judgment. * Someone who deals effectively with both macro and strategic issues, as well as the detailed tactical activity involved in developing progressive human resources programs and policies. * A professional with Employee Relations expertise with hands-on style and the capability to work as part of HR team, as well as build and operate best-practices human resources processes. * An individual who inspires confidence and can quickly capture the trust and respect. * A decisive individual with the strength and confidence to make tough decisions. * The ability to quickly grasp the business and legal issues of a situation and develop the best solution; find creative ways to solve complex issues among demanding parties and achieve win-win resolutions. * A broad array of HR experiences to draw upon (Generalist, OD, Comp. etc.) * A professional with insurance and/or finance industry related experience (preferably with a sales force).
