Mercer has an exciting opportunity available and is recruiting for a Client Portfolio Manager to work with our Delegated Clients.

Oversee client servicing and relationship management for a specific group of delegated investment services clients (Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, Not For Profit) including drafting of investment guidelines, development of marketing messages, portfolio trading, and asset allocation/portfolio structuring analyses.

Flexible on Location, the appropriate candidate may be located in any of the locations listed!

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Attend quarterly client meetings with a US national footprint, including making presentations to investment committees and introducing new investment strategies as initiated.

  • Provide internal and external support for a select group of delegated investment services clients that have customized portfolios and/or are primarily serviced by investment consultants; orchestrate changes in such client portfolios as required by serving as a critical link between investment consultants and the delegated investment services group.

  • Represent the delegated investment philosophy and processes at prospect meetings working with the Investments sales force.

  • Determine and lead the positioning of additional Mercer or MMC corporate solutions to expand existing delegated investment services relationships.

  • Assist with new client transitions including the coordination of asset management and trust/custody relationships to Mercer's platform.

What qualifications are necessary to have for the role?

  • 15+ years of related experience.

  • Bachelors, Masters or CFA preferred.

Job Description The Client Portfolio Manager will work closely with internal partners such as private bankers, financial advisors and trust administrators to provide high quality solutions to clients and to construct, manage, monitor and maintain client portfolios. He/she will be responsible for managing investment portfolios that are properly aligned with the client's investment objectives and according to Great Lakes Advisors investment philosophy and policy. Duties and responsibilities include: * Meet with internal partners and clients to review client objectives and deploy appropriate portfolio management strategies specific to client goals, risk tolerances and time horizon. * Understand and articulate the firm's Multi-Asset Strategies investment approach, asset allocation, investment process, and portfolio construction methodology. * Understand the firm's order management system (OMS) in executing security transactions, conducting portfolio rebalancing, generating performance reporting materials and maintaining clients records, documents, etc. pertaining to the management of client portfolios. * Actively participate in and contribute to the firm's research, analysis, Asset Allocation and Manager Review Committees. * Adhere closely to the firm's investment policy guidelines, asset allocation models, and approved securities lists. * Understand and follow the firm's Compliance guidelines in all aspects of conduct in the Client Portfolio Manager role. * Champion and advocate the firm's portfolio solutions, thought leadership, client service standards and culture both internally and externally. The Client Portfolio Manager is meant to be a senior role with decision-making authority on client matters regarding to management of portfolios. This role also will include utilizing, mentoring and working with Associate Portfolio Managers and Associates on the team. Required Skill and Experience: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Client-first attitude, professional demeanor, high level of personal integrity and an understanding of fiduciary responsibility * Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively * Self-motivated, confident, detail-oriented and analytical * Effective and impressive in client interfacing * Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of various and current securities markets, both domestic and global, various investment approaches and themes, and different types of investment products. * Team player mentality and attitude of accountability.
