Description

Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age related standards. Provides appropriate post-phlebotomy patient care.

Identifies need for patient medical assistance and call code as appropriate. Reviews/Records refrigerator temperature(s) and QC/QA records. Areas of concern are recorded through the Corrective Action Log and reported to maintenance for repair.

Findings are reported to supervisor or manager. Use manual requisitions and labels specimens appropriately. Label and process specimens according to establishes protocols and policies.

Must effectively procure blood specimens from infant, adult, geriatric, and wheelchair bound patients. Must demonstrate competency for age related responsibilities. Understands the operation and maintenance of equipment pertinent to the job.

Follows up with all outstanding orders on manifest log, and communicates all timed, completed or uncompleted draws/charges/results to the client office staff and performs other duties as assigned.Requests/obtains written physician orders with all required information necessary for lab services requested and accurately orders laboratory tests in computer system(s). Prioritizes tasks and is able to multi-task. Performs and collects phlebotomy specimens within cost and maintains efforts of a less than 2 percent recollection or cancellation rate. Follows TJC National Patient Safety goals in regard to two patient identifiers and handwashing.

Presents a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance. Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers. Addresses questions and concerns promptly, or identifies appropriate person or recourse to do so.

Provides follow up on test results to appropriate individuals in a professional and courteous manner. Continuously updated on information by reading emails and demonstrates compliance in MediaLab. Maintains a safe work environment, holds self-accountable for safe work practices, performs all aspects of daily work in a manner that contributes and ensures an environment of patient safety.

Adheres to all recommendations and requirements of the Lab and Hospital Safety Committee. Performs all aspects of patient care in a manner that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.

Performs clerical work; faxing, printing, filing, reviewing, and verbally releasing laboratory results. Initiates the meeting of responsibilities without prompting and can complete tasks independently without immediate supervision. Demonstrates the values of team concept on a consistent basis.

Interacts with all team members in a professional manner and aids/assists coworkers to complete assigned tasks. AA/EOE.

Qualifications

Required: High School diploma or equivalent.

Phlebotomy certification or training from a phlebotomy school / institution or equivalent experience. Preferred: New grads to one year of experience performing phlebotomy on a broad range of patients types. Experience with processing lab specimens, transferring specimens, and handling a centrifuge.

Familiar with medical EMR systems. Knowledge of medical terminology. Phlebotomy certification through nationally recognized organization (ASCP).

The facility has over 315 acres of land and miles of trails in a beautiful wooded setting. We are now accepting applications for employment for a Intake and Billing Coordinator Under the immediate supervision of the Clinical Manager and the general supervision of the Executive Director this position is responsible for providing assistance to the staff and clients, clients family members and to potential clients and referral sources of Top of the World Ranch. This position offers general administrative services and serves as the "face" of the organization. This position focuses on all aspects of the intake process, including providing clear information for private self-pay and commercial insurance processes for potential clients, their families, and other referral sources. This position focuses on all aspects of organizational needs and processes from intake to discharge. This position interacts with and manages all aspects of client's commercial insurance, including pre-authorization and billing cycles and levels of care through our EMR. This position submits and tracks all billing for all services provided. This position conveys the benefits and challenges for our clients utilizing both private self-pay and commercial insurance. This position understands addiction and is able to convey the importance of clients receiving appropriate levels of care and time in treatment for best outcomes. This position sets the tone for the office environment by offering key information to potential clients and their families seeking treatment as well as supporting other staff in their intake efforts. Responsibilities Office Administration * Provide reception (phone and physical) services for facility as needed. * Provide warm greeting and clear information to potential clients, their families and referral sources. * Provide meaningful and necessary information to prospective clients their families and referral sources about the TOWR treatment center offerings/approaches to care. * Upon inquiry by potential clients, complete the Minimum Information Record and provide to clinical manager or counselor for approval. * Work with Medical Director for client approvals and continuing stays as necessary * Assist clients through the admissions process to including approval to attend, obtaining deposits, deductibles, co-payments, preparing admission packages, assigning rooms in the residence, flight assistance, client pick-ups, etc. * Ensure that appropriate staff are present and assigned to assist new clients through the admissions process. * Ensure that all appropriate forms and materials are ready for client admissions and that the client's room is completely ready, their bin and bottle is marked, and that all is organized. * Liaison with Robert Young Center in coordinating detox services through UPH's RYC. * · Work on behalf of client with commercial insurance to obtain all information needed for client to attend treatment with appropriate levels of care and time in treatment. * · Work with client to understand the value and benefit of private self-pay for their treatment * · Initiate and follow through for all billing, revenue cycles and payments from both private self-pay and commercial insurance * · Liaison between commercial insurance and clinical staff for clients continuing stay reviews thus helping clients to attend appropriate levels of treatment and time in treatment. * · Manage accounts payable: Diligently & Consistently track and follow up with commercial insurance and client payments owing to the ranch. * · Oversight to ensure exceptional appearance of reception area. * · Assist in tracking/marketing efforts. Inputs based primarily on phone calls to the center. * · Responsible for the acquisition of and maintenance of appropriate levels of typical office supplies utilized at the center in cost-effective manner. * Assist all staff in projects requiring administrative involvement. * Other duties as assigned. * Responsible for monitoring and securing client cash advances. * Responsible for maintaining records as to outstanding receivables, additional charges the client incurs during their stay. * Responsible for maintaining accurate client contact information within the EMR utilized by the center. * Assist clients with their departure plan. Quality/Reporting * Prepares and submits reports as deemed necessary. * Organizes and facilitates regulatory visits/inquiries including assembly of any reporting and records required to support such visit or inquiry. * Participates in any quality assurance program and seeks to continuously improve the program within fiscal and departmental parameters. .
