Benefitfocus is hiring for a Client Manager that will be a trusted advisor to our employer clients, helping them roll out and maximize effectiveness of a mix of programs for their employees including health, wealth and lifestyle protection offerings. The Client Manager will analyze product proposals from our partner carriers and review the implementation process with employer clients, answering configuration and platform-specific questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain consistent communication with employer and broker to ensure satisfaction and success of life and ancillary strategy on Benefitfocus platform

  • Coordinate across departments within Benefitfocus to ensure successful delivery and ongoing support of employer life and ancillary platform strategy

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3-5 years of industry related experience

  • Internal candidates: experience managing complex customer relationships as a CSM II or CSM I, or in a similar role with commensurate experience. Experience in a Sales-related role at Benefitfocus or prior is preferable; knowledge of sales process

  • Proven experience in developing client relationships and providing outstanding customer service. Emphasis on proactive, strategic perspective to client management

  • Proven experience in proactively identifying and closing new product opportunities within assigned portfolio of business

  • Experience in cultivating and maintaining relationships with employers, brokers, and insurance carriers

  • Knowledge of broker and insurance industry with enterprise (1,000+ lives) market expertise

  • Expert-level employee benefits knowledge, specifically life and ancillary benefits

  • Communication and presentation skills: proven experience presenting to prospects, customers or senior leadership. Able to

  • Software or SaaS industry experience is a plus

  • 15% travel (with heavier travel during peak selling season)

The Client Relationship Manager (CRM) is a direct report to the Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Market Executive (MLWM ME) with dual reporting to the Division Client Relationship Manager (DCRM). Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Ensuring client service expectations are met and exceeded while balancing the risk and exposure for Merrill Lynch * Representing the office and Merrill Lynch with clients, prospects, Financial Advisor recruits, vendors, regulators and outside legal counsel * Reviewing and approving all new client relationships * Managing, training and developing the branch's Client Associates and Service Support Staff * Requires diversification and experience with ML Products & Services, Trend Analysis, Risk Assessment, Human Resources and broad Industry Knowledge Required Skills: "MUST" have these skills to be minimally qualified.
