Job Description:

This position is part of the firm's Alert Operations and Compliance List Screening Program Management team. The team covers both global and business-aligned functions supporting the firm's AML, Sanctions and Anti-corruption programs. This team works in partnership with the Data Management, Coverage Strategy, Global Compliance Technology, and Investigations teams.

A successful candidate possesses strong analytical ability; the ability to work independently and take initiative on various projects and daily support functions, along with being highly adaptable to change. In addition, successful candidates exercise sound judgement, and observe the highest degree in confidentiality in the handling of information received in connection with their responsibilities. A CLS TOPS Analyst will be able to deliver results, by setting goals and communicating accurate timelines to support long-term strategies in business objectives.


  • As a member of the CLS Testing Operations and Production Support team, you will be responsible for analyzing complex issues pertaining to CLS & Sanctions escalations system functionality, missing files, or data issues, with the ability to meet critical timeline and deliverable SLAs

  • Identify business issues, and utilize business knowledge to identify root causes while proposing strategic solutions.

  • Communicate with end users to resolve complex queries. Articulate step by step instruction in a cross-functional team environment

  • Partner with production teams to capture and triage defects and various system enhancements

  • Liaise with Technology teams to follow defects through to resolution and implementation

  • Identify potential tactical and strategic enhancements for CLS Operations & Sanctions escalations team.

  • Partner with PCG teams to assist with communicating training and procedural modifications

  • Function as a key contributor with demonstrated knowledge of all in scope operating systems

  • Assist with Business Exploratory script testing of unreleased system functionality, and Post Validation Testing for Technology releases and implementations

  • Build relationships with Operations Management, and provide daily support across all leveraged applications. Maintain stakeholder relationships with Data Management Operations, Vendor Management, various Technology teams, Business Analysts, LOB Relationship Managers, and Compliance groups. Establish strong working relationships with CLS TOPS team members.

  • 1+ years' experience in Global Compliance Operations preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or work experience equivalent required

  • Working knowledge of Sanctions/Sanctions escalations, PEP and Negative Media risk areas

  • Working knowledge of Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing (TF) risk areas

  • Demonstrated adherence to controls and standards

  • Proven ability to work well in a high-pressure and dynamic environment, and develop/maintain strong relationships with several cross LOB teams

  • Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries to accomplish common objectives, including the appropriate escalations in the organization to ensure timely resolution of defects

  • Ability to maintain a professional & personable demeanor and have excellent skills in the following areas: Analytical ability, ability to multi-task, effective oral & written communication, presentation skills, issue resolution, attention to detail, data mining, working independently, problem-solving ability, and business process and procedure comprehension.

  • Strong Proficiency in MS Office applications.

The Corporate AML Operations, Client List Screening (CLS) Unit performs the complete process around regulatory/non regulatory internally directed Enterprise-wide searches of our accountholders and their transactions looking for known or suspected money launderers, terrorists or drug dealers. The CLS Analyst will be based in Newark, Delaware. Responsibilities include: * Reviewing alerts around regulatory/non regulatory internally directed Enterprise-wide searches of our accountholders and their transactions looking for known or suspected money launderers, terrorists or drug dealers. * Performing due diligence on Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and Special Persons of Interest (SPOIs) in addition to screening clients against sanction and negative media profiles. * Internal/external written and verbal communication of issues, directing searches, reviewing, reporting upon and documenting the results. * Reviewing alerts to determine if a true match to a suspect name will include: the results of periodic systematic accountholder screenings, real-time review of online transactions and the review of specific issues escalated from business units. * Reviewing, inputting and triage of internal referrals of suspicious customer activity. * Perform at a 100% quality rate while balancing high-throughput requirements. * Will perform additional duties as requested * Adhere to SLAs; escalating any quality or timeliness issues with Manager for follow-up * 1-3 years experience in financial compliance, customer contact or service operations preferred. * Self-starter, capable of working under minimum supervision. * Individual must be results driven and have attention to detail, maintain a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize/multi-task * Strong sense of accountability and ownership over "quality" and end-to-end best practices * Strong analytical/time management skills * Results-oriented team player * Able to meet goals and quotas * Adept at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in a high-pressure environment * Strong problem solving abilities * Strong communication skills are a must – verbal and written * Adaptable, flexible, and willing to work in a dynamic environment * Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. * Strong documentation skills to clearly articulate alert disposition * Adherence to controls and standards * Knowledge of AML/KYC compliance including the USA Patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and related AML regulations preferred.
