Position Overview

Implementation Managers work directly with clients across all market segments (front and middle office), including hedge funds, banks, brokers, wealth managers, asset managers and pension plans. Implementation Managers direct and coordinate all work efforts internally and work with the client throughout the on-boarding process, which is organized as an implementation project, and which results in an enterprise solution in which our risk, performance and analytics products are integrated into the client's investment process. Implementation Managers manage several client on-boarding projects simultaneously. They form and lead virtual teams, along with Implementation Consultants, Risk Consultants, Product Mangers, Client Services and Sales, dedicated to the clients.

Scope of Responsibility

  • Take full responsibility and accountability for managing client implementation projects from initiation to seamless transition into operational service

  • Lead the presentation of Implementation Services during pre-sales and contract negotiations with clients and make recommendations on best practice of implementation in order to maximize the likelihood of success

  • Ability to understand clients requirements (analytic and technical) to translate into a well-defined solution architecture

  • Ability to recognize, document and integrate in the solution planning any solutions gap that would require specific produce development to meet client requirements.

  • Prepare and present clear and detailed project plans and solution definitions that comprise all deliverables that will be documented in the contract with the client

  • Understand, analyze and configure technical aspects of the client workflow

  • Organize resources required and establish milestones and timeframes internally and with clients

  • Coordinate internal and external effort to complete all planned tasks and resolve all unplanned issues

  • Communicate project status/issues/risks via appropriate media at agreed frequency

  • Report on project status on a regular basis with all stakeholders efficiently

  • Identify and communicate risk factors that might delay a deliverable or threaten effective project completion

  • Escalate issues and risks to project stakeholders in a timely and effective manner

  • Define success criteria , establish and manage reasonable expectations, internally and externally

  • Prepare internal and client project deliverables during transition to operational service

  • Follow implementation best practice and create best client experience during the project

Specific Knowledge/Skills

  • At least five years of successful project management experience of large scale implementations in a client-facing role in the financial service industry

  • Knowledge of and experience with a variety of information technologies, including portfolio or risk management systems

  • Excellent understanding of financial products is required: equities, fixed income, derivative products and financial risk management techniques, portfolio management theory and performance attribution.

  • Project management certificate including Agile techniques (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2)

  • Strong communication, organizational, negotiating and problem solving skills

  • Self-reliant, detail-oriented and a fast learner

  • Excellent in team work and collaboration

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably with a finance or engineering focus

  • CFA or FRM certification or MBA or Masters degree in finance or engineering is preferred

Desired Experience

  • Knowledge of and experience with a variety of information technologies, including portfolio or risk management systems

  • Excellent understanding of financial products is required: equities, fixed income, derivative products and financial risk management techniques, portfolio management theory and performance attribution.

Provides consultancy advice to clients to maximize the benefits of our GTRF solutions and to strengthen client relationships. Project manages the Customer Implementation in line with quality and time and achieve highest level of customer satisfaction as result Impact on the Business * Creates and maintains support documentation and ensure implementation occurs in line with time, budget and quality expectations * Manages and develops the implementation function in line with REGIONAL implementation standards * Creates and maintains required documentation/manuals to work towards standardising implementation processes * Actively seeks to maximize return from GTRF implementations. * Seeks ongoing improvements to the complex implementation processes * Ensure Credit/Risk recommendations, KYC Procedures and other GTRF Procedures Guidelines / Manuals are implemented and adhered to * Supports Sales and RMs (when required) during the bidding process Customers / Stakeholders * Develop a close relationship with customer throughout the pre, mid and post implementation stages * Ensures successful transition of customer transactions to HSBC as per the agreed solution implemented by monitoring revenues against EBV * Drive the delivery of a customer-centric, relationship building approach to ensure service excellence * Drive up customer satisfaction and oversee the delivery of a positive customer experience by effectively meeting and exceeding expectations. Therefore, Client Implementation is a new sub function within Business Development and is a critical part of the business as it provides the basis for the first point of customer service, satisfaction and quality experience for the customer. Successful client implementations set the precedence for a positive customer relationship and return revenue. Management of Risk * Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues. * Ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation.
