Animal Hospital of Signal Mountain is looking to add some experienced talent into our growing Team! We are a 4-doctor practice that offers Medical, Urgent Care, Surgical, as well as boarding, and grooming. We have been serving the community since 1989 and have recently added exotics to our practice.

The ideal AHSM customer service/receptionist:

Desired job experience/work ethic:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a small animal general practice setting.

  • Avimark medical database experience.

  • Windows Product knowledge (Outlook, Word and Excel)

  • Excellent communication and written skills as well as customer relation skills

  • Able to handle multi phone lines and invoicing and billing clients

Organizational skills:

  • Be able to multi-task, and keep a calm environment

  • Canine pet handling - Cat knowledge and handling

  • Preventive care knowledge

  • Handel tough conversations (cost, euthanasia, medical needs)

  • Customer service and interpersonal communication skills

  • Motivated to learn and continue your education.

  • Timely and focused

Provides excellent and expeditious client experience; always greets clients, responds to questions; processes incoming and outgoing pets, and handles payments. Answers phone calls, which may involve answering questions, screening for service needs, and scheduling appointments. Handles incoming and outgoing mail and e-mail. Monitors client-waiting area to ensure cleanliness. Documents and maintains client information, service data and other pertinent information within business operations software. Escalates complex matters to senior staff.

Starting wage is based on customer service knowledge, data base/medical records knowledge (Avimark) job experience in a veterinary hospital.

Wage and Extras

  • Based on the candidates knowledge and experience, in the veterinary field. AHSM rate of hourly pay ranges from $15 to $17 an hour.

Days/hours are rotating shifts.

M-F 7-5 and Sat 8-230. Shift 1 Day Shift

M-F 4pm to 12am Shift 2. Urgent Care shift

Urgent care shift are one or two a week out of the month.
