Job Description

The Client & Business Manager I (CBM) is responsible for the market's delivery of the client service experience, as well as the execution of strategic initiatives, risk management and oversight, and business management functions across the market and all functional disciplines in small to mid-sized markets.

Acts as a market-level COO on Market Management Team (MMT) to identify and implement process improvement, drive resource allocation and efficiency, and ensure adherence to risk and compliance policies and regulatory standards. Works in close partnership with all members of MMT, Trust and Investments National Practice Groups and control function partners in HR, Finance, Risk, Compliance and Business Control Management. Has responsibility for budget/financial management, personnel processes, audit/compliance, space/resource allocation, associate training, client service processes and events, process improvement, business continuity and market communication. Maintains key focus on oversight and administration and partners as applicable with functional experts to ensure execution and completion of key activities, including but not limited to KYC, account opening, Money Movement Disc Distributions, Asset Allocation Monitoring, Reg. 9, Investment Policy Statements, ARQs, etc.

Responsible for the performance and talent management of all business support functions including business support leads, Sr. Client Associates, CSSOs, PM Associates, PM Assistants, Associate Trust Officers and Trust Admin Officers. Partners with functional leaders to ensure executive support including career sponsorship and technical coaching are provided within each respective discipline. Reports to Divisional CBME.

Business Acumen

  • Well versed in U.S. Trust capabilities and solutions, industry service practices and trends, online/mobile environment

  • Thorough knowledge of UST/fiduciary client and risk/oversight functions and products

  • Understanding of business strategy

  • BA/BS degree a plus
