Secure and retain business through professional, consultative, proactive sales activities directed at decision-makers and decision influencers at existing and new clinical sponsors.

Promotes, recommends and sells solutions, products and services to other individuals and organizations. This includes developing, managing, and implementing sales strategies, identifying potential customers, and cultivating existing customer relationships to close deals.

  • Actively prospect and leverage potential new business opportunities within specified customer account(s).

  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers within Account and develop in-depth knowledge of the customer organization.

  • Maintain general knowledge of all IQVIA services for appropriate cross-sell opportunities.

  • Aggressively pursue awareness of competitive activities, positioning and pricing, which includes specific reasons for awards and non-awards.

  • Analyze potential opportunities and develop sales plans for each target account. Ensure appropriate strategy/solution is proposed to customer. Monitor actions and results against plans.

  • Coordinate with contracts and proposals to develop proposal.

  • Work with operations and functional managers to identify sales team and prepares and leads the sales presentation. Educate team participants in customer culture, operational needs/methods and sales techniques needed to close the sale.

  • Handle follow-up related to the sale and drive completion of contractual documents.

  • Adapt successful strategies and tactics to meet market demands and financial targets.

  • Maintain high visibility within customer organization. Monitor customer satisfaction by communicating regularly with customer

  • Plan and coordinate all customer sales activities.

  • Record all customer sales related activities in CRM system.

  • Prepare sales activity report for Sales Management as required.

  • Serve as a liaison between the customer and technical and operational groups at IQVIA

Education

Bachelor's Degree

Experience

Typically requires 7 - 10 years of prior relevant experience including 5 years of relevant industry (CRO/Pharmaceutical) and/or sales experience.

Knowledge

Requires extensive knowledge of multiple job areas obtained through advanced education and experience.

Viewed as a leading expert within the field by peers.

Seeking a Director of Business Development to cover the Southeast Region! BASIC FUNCTIONS: Direct responsibility for establishing relationships with senior decision makers and clinical research personnel within pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Critical functions include market assessment; account targeting, and all facets of client relationship management. Client relationship management involves needs assessment, developing an understanding of organizational processes, identification of opportunities, facilitating contract negotiations, closing deals and the maintenance of positive, ongoing relationships with key decision makers. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide detailed analyses of market potential, competitive activity and possible clients * Develop and implement an account targeting strategy based on market analysis * Penetrate targeted accounts at multiple levels to ensure maximum understanding of, and influence over, the decision making process * Identify opportunities and manage the selling process including facilitating negotiations and reaching closure on new business opportunities * Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with key decision makers in all targeted accounts * Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key members of Novella Clinical's operational management and proposal/contracting teams KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Demonstrated expertise in sales of clinical services * Demonstrated expertise of the pharmaceutical, clinical research services and biotechnology industries * Demonstrated track record as a self-starter, showing personal initiative and resourcefulness to drive results while working in an independent setting * Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships * Strong relationship development, communications and negotiations skills * Excellent judgment in the execution of the duties and responsibilities of this position * Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a team based work environment CRITICAL JOB FUNCTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ADA CRITERIA: * Ability to travel domestically and internationally * Very limited physical effort required to perform normal job duties MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS: * MBA (or EU equivalent) and/or advanced degree in a healthcare related field preferred and 5-7 years' experience in designing and implementing sales strategies at the executive level in either the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries * Prior experience in the sales of clinical services is highly desirable CLASSIFICATION (US): This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act; employees are not eligible for overtime compensation.
