Bessemer's Naples office is looking for a Client Advisor to join their collaborative team to serve Bessemer's ultra-high net worth clients. The Client Advisor is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships through proactive client communication and the coordinated delivery of services to individuals, families, trusts, and foundations. The Client Advisor acts internally as a liaison between Senior Client Advisors and all other service areas of the organization, such as Tax and Financial Planning, Investments, Legacy Planning and Trust Administration, Alternative Asset Management, Philanthropic Advisory, Real Estate and Insurance Advisory.

Responsibilities:

Client Service

  • Communicate with clients and their advisors regularly. Provide timely and thorough response.

  • Attend client meetings, document issues discussed and coordinate follow up.

  • Oversee preparation of client meeting materials. Create custom reports proactively and as requested.

  • Document client information and communications in Salesforce.

Account Administration

  • Oversee account opening and closing procedures and review related documents.

  • Oversee account transactions and reporting.

  • Review and be comfortable with client wills, trusts and governing documents and their application to client account administration. Establish necessary automated reminders and follow through.

  • Coordinate with Bessemer fiduciary counsel as needed to ensure administration is in accordance with governing documents.

  • Prepare Annual Relationship Reviews and assure that all accounts comply with all regulatory requirements.

Investment Management

  • Assist the Senior Client Advisor in investment management activities including implementing investment objectives, rebalancing accounts, executing trades, monitoring asset allocation and investment performance, and overseeing investment transition.

  • Monitor daily internal reports and work with account team to resolve any issues, such as overdrafts.

  • Coordinate client requests for funds including regular disbursements.

  • Prepare asset allocation simulation modeling.

Trust Administration

  • Prepare initial and annual trust reviews and requests for all discretionary distributions from trusts and for all special investments in trust.

  • Make required distributions from trusts and foundations.

  • Coordinate annual unitrust payments and private foundation grant payments with tax department.

  • Process gifts to charity and family. Prepare and send Crummey letters as appropriate.

  • Coordinate with tax department (or clients outside tax preparers) on reporting gifts to, and use of GST exemption on gift tax returns for, irrevocable trusts.

  • Prepare reports to Trust Builder for irrevocable insurance trusts (ILITs), make transfers to ILITs as required and pay life insurance premiums.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field and four to ten years of related business experience. Masters preferred.

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork qualities.

  • Ability to organize, complete multiple tasks within deadlines and complete accuracy.

  • Series 7, Series 63 license desired with two years of Cannon Trust School or equivalent. CTFA, CFP or CFA is a plus.

  • Ideally, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Salesforce.

Position Summary The Private Risk Services Client Advisor is responsible for developing a network of lead source partners who refer targeted clients to our agency for personal risk management consultation. The Client Advisor will also be responsible for 'onboarding' new clients through a highly consultative & professional sales process. This is a 75% 'outside' position that requires direct interaction with high net-worth clients and their trusted advisors, realtors, family offices, wealth advisors, CPA's, trust & estate attorneys, etc. Local travel will be required often and occasional cross-state travel will likely be required as some clients prefer face-to-face interaction with their personal risk management team. Lead Source Development - Research local trusted advisors who cater to the needs of high-net-worth individuals and families. Conduct face-to-face meetings that outline the core services provided by Gulfshore Private Risk Services and secure commitments from the advisors to communicate our value proposition to their clients and refer their clients to our agency for personal risk management consultations. Maintain continuous communications with each advisor to develop the trust and relationships that is required. Consultative Sales & New Business Marketing Process - The new business effort will primarily focus on generating new clients who generate more than $1,200 in annual commission. Conduct a proprietary Personal Risk Assessment for each new prospective client to properly identify and document their needs and expectations. Meet with the assigned Gulfshore Private Risk Services Marketing Representative to review each completed assessment to develop a consultative sales strategy to effectively win the new business opportunities. Keep in continuous contact with the Marketing Representative as they research and negotiate the desired terms and conditions with our appointed insurance company partners. They will work with the different underwriters to outline clients' needs and our agency's plan to win their business. They will research potential solutions and negotiate terms & pricing with each carrier. The Marketing Representative will assist the Client Advisor in the creation of our new business proposals. In some cases the Client Advisor will be expected to participate in this research & negotiation process along with the Marketing Representative. In most cases the Client Advisor will be responsible for presenting our risk management plans to the prospective customers directly. Specialized Technical Knowledge & Abilities Knowledge of the products and underwriting procedures associated with the insurance companies who specialize in servicing high-net-worth clients. Must be able to demonstrate specific experience with these specialty products and services. Strong market relationships and knowledge of specific company underwriting guidelines and operating systems is required. Must have the ability to read, understand and interpret policy language and related change requests. Other Required Knowledge & Abilities Proven track record of consistent sales achievement utilizing a consultative selling approach. Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to learn our agency automation systems. Proficient in the use of Windows based operating system and Microsoft Office products (2007 or above), including Word, Excel and Outlook. Strong typing skills. Other duties may be assigned Marketing and Lead Source Development * Participate in various marketing forums, trade shows, educational work shows to continuously expand your network of contacts and relationships with trusted advisors. * Ensure brand and messaging consistency by actively utilizing the marketing materials developed for the Gulfshore Private Risk Services team. * Provide ongoing feedback and offer personal support to help evolve our marketing materials to best promote our organization and our value proposition. Consultative Selling * Advise and assist clients by explaining coverage options/exclusions, making coverage recommendations, requesting policy changes, handling premium collections and answering questions and concerns of the client. Responds to client service requests in a timely manner that will avoid potential E&O issues. * Utilize the Risk Assessment process to uncover the risks & exposures of each new prospective client and determine their preferences & expectations in the event of a claim. * Provide clear summations of the value added enhancements our recommended programs provide over their existing insurance policies. * Provide a transparent summation of the complete carrier marketing effort our team conducted to ultimately secure our recommended solutions. Data and systems * Keep activities related to prospect opportunities updated in customer relationship management system (SalesLogix) throughout the marketing process. * Ensure that accounts are properly updated in our agency management system (Sagitta). * Effectively document and save client conversations and correspondence by utilizing our document management system (Qn, Base). * Maintain follow-up and suspense system for outstanding orders and correspondence. * Respond to carrier requests for additional information in a timely manner. * When called upon, secure accurate rating by entering account details into various carrier internet rating systems. * Actively seek referrals from current client base to solicit for new business prospects. Miscellaneous * Participate in seminars and other training for knowledge and skill development. * Provide backup in other areas as assigned. * Perform other duties and special projects at Management's request. * Help develop efficiencies in automation and paper flow. * Stay abreast of trends, products, pricing and competitive markets, have working knowledge of all agency and company changes procedures. * Assist Team Leader with training and mentoring of Private Risk Service's team members. * Maintain a leadership/mentorship role within the team as needed. Job Requirements Private Risk Services Client Advisor Job Specifications: (Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required) Education/Training (or equivalent) * License/Certification 2-20. * Four Year Degree Preferred. * H.S. Diploma. Experience: (Type of work experience, minimum number of years of each) * Minimum 5 years of experience in personal lines new business marketing or client executive position required. * 2-20 insurance license is also required.
