  • Provides secretarial support and clerical functions for the University of Maryland Capital Region Health Medical Group.

  • Answers telephones, types letters, memos and reports.

  • Maintains department records.


  • Responds promptly and appropriately to complaints from patients, visitors and hospital staff.

  • Must demonstrate courtesy to others greeting and acknowledging customers and using a friendly tone.

  • Ability to refer calls to appropriate personnel and to assist in the administrative operation of the department in the absence of the supervisor

  • Reports directly to the Busines Opreation Manager

  • Identifies and resolves any and all issues related to the administrative issues.

  • Informs Business Operations Manager of identified problems or concerns related to all aspects of housekeeping operation.

  • Offer suggestions/ideas to solve them to the Business Operations Manager

  • Types and Number of Employees Supervised:None.


  • High School graduate and experience as Senior Unit Clerk, receptionist, clerk-typist, or similar position required.

  • Typing skills required - minimum 35 words per min.

  • Effective communication skills essential.

  • Demonstration of computer skill using spread sheets and word-processing desired. Experience in health care setting is desirable.
