BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE POSITION # To obtain all necessary information from outpatients to initiate treatment and billing by completing data entry and clinical information into the registration system.# # RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS # Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Enter and/or verify all information into Medipac registration system Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire for every Medicare patient Departures of Immediate Care charts Make up new charts for Immediate Care Request jackets for add on patients in Mammography Answer the phones and overhead page Memo all pertinent information regarding billing and insurance into Medipac system Day shift and afternoon shift coverage# Co-coordinated lunch and break periods
Ability to multitask patient registration with phone calls
Ability to assist patients in wheelchairs and transport if necessary Prompt and regular attendance at assigned facility
/area of assignment. Ability to interact with patients, employees, and other occupants in an appropriate manner Ability to receive, understand, and implement direction from supervision and management Ability to effectively function within the framework of department and organizational policies and procedures Ability to successfully complete ongoing department and organizational competency requirements Other duties as assigned by the Director or designee EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS # Minimum Education/Experience Ability to type at least 35 wpm High School diploma or equivalent All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to#race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status.# JOB LOCATION AND SCHEDULING Varied locations and hours as required by the job (generally scheduled for 8-hour shifts). Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma Basic-intermediate knowledge of medical terminology is preferred Experience and knowledge with computer systems, especially Cerner and Microsoft Office Basic knowledge of insurance rules and requirements Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure Excellent typing and spelling skills Subject to frequent interruptions and re-prioritization of work. Able to complete organizational education/competency requirements on time without coaching. Excellent telephone skills and professional manner Demonstrates effective communication with patients who are suffering from physical, mental, or emotional stress Certified in CPR # WORKING CONDITIONS: Hours of operation with shifts as assigned including occasional overtime, on-call or off-shifts (evenings and/or weekends) scheduled as necessary. Lunch and break periods must be coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate staffing during hospice hours of operation. Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day.
