The Clerk position is to assist in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities occurring in the Nursing Department by performing clerical and receptionist duties. The Clerk serves as the Secretary for all departments listed under Nursing Serves as Receptionist during lunch by answering telephone , taking messages, and communicating messages to the appropriate person Assist residents and visitors in nursing unit as needed.
Prepares and keeps current census sheets, and post the resident and staff daily census Compiles new charts, maintains current charts, and enters resident information on the charts. File E-MAR#s, vital sign sheets, and other chart forms on residents chart monthly and all lab and x-ray results on chart when received. Requests ambulance for transportation of resident and submits to ambulance the proper form to register them for service.
Assist in arranging for and making resident appointments for diagnostic and therapeutic services. Transmit doctor#s orders to appropriate areas under supervision of professional nursing staff and to confer with supervisor or charge nurse regarding scheduling of tests or therapies as ordered. Serves as a Certified Nursing Assistant during staffing necessities Prepare necessary forms for a resident#s doctor office visit and mark calendar with appointments. Communicate with family members regarding resident#s need of personal items, doctor appointments, and staffing meetings JOB SPECIFICATIONS Minimum Required Education High School or equivalent Experience 2 years clerical experience Skills Basic clerical and computer skills Excellent communication skills Preferred / Desired Current LA certified Nursing Assistant license # #9198
