Position Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enters court data in Harris County's Justice Courts Information System in Odyssey and JWEB.

  • Answering and assisting multi-line switchboard, performs extensive data entry and files in numeric and alpha order.

  • Works with the public and processing payments for traffic, criminal, and civil cases.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

All applicants must register and take the HRRM Clerical Skills Test and score a minimum of 90% with a typing speed of 35 W.P.M. and 90% accuracy.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Heavy filing and some experience working with computers and handling a multi-line phone system.

  • Basic computer knowledge in a Microsoft Windows based environment.

  • Possesses strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, punctual and dependable.

  • Capable of multi-tasking, handling high pressure, fast-paced and stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.

  • Uses standard office equipment such as computer, copiers, and fax machine.

  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals of diverse background.

  • Ability to work well with the public and other staff members.

  • Proper English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and business writing.

  • Physical: ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds.

Licensure:

  • A valid U.S. driver's license and social security card.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:

Salary:

  • $17.00 Hourly

Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen.
