Job Summary

SHI's 44,000-square-foot located at 300 Davidson Avenue is the face of SHI displaying our culture and mission to help our customers select, deploy and manage technology, and provide a behind the scenes look at our future together. Our Executive Briefing Center hosts the leadership of our most valued prospects, customers and partners to understand their strategic priorities and ensure we are in the best position to support them.

The goal of the briefing center is to engage customer and partner relationships accelerate business growth and provide knowledge of SHI's values and services by hosting meetings, events and Summits within the space. SHI has an exciting opportunity in the Marketing Event Planning department in the Executive Briefing Center (EBC), as an EBC Event Assistant/Clerk. The Marketing EBC Events Team Lead and Marketing EBC Events Manager supervise the EBC Event Assistant/Clerk position. The Event Assistant/Clerk position will assist the Events team with the planning and execution of events held at the Executive Briefing Center and work as part of team to support events that contribute to the overall experience of SHI. The EBC Event Assistant/Clerk will assist with meeting setup and execution, as well as providing backup to all other EBC positions.

Responsibilities/Job Function

  • Set up and breakdown briefing center rooms in a timely fashion Moving of tables, chairs and equipment within different rooms within the briefing center on a daily basis Provide support for all EBC events to include luggage, food distribution, etc. Organize, receive and distribute packages and materials to meeting rooms Organize and maintain inventory of furniture and keep organized in storage rooms Organize cleaning with cleaning vendor Maintains incoming and outgoing package logs Restock EBC meeting rooms and pantry kitchen supplies on a timely basis Maintains inventory levels of office supplies & Marketing supplies throughout all meeting rooms Places orders with facilities to maintain office and paper supply inventory levels Report any hazards or irregularities within the EBC. Backup EBC Receptionists, when needed Backup with EBC team with travel arrangements, when needed Helps facilities and other departments with projects, as needed Backup AV Technician when needed, assist with audio/visual equipment such a laptops, projects and microphones Drive company vehicles to transport supplies between buildings Additional duties, as required

Qualifications/Minimum Skills Required

  • Strong customer service skills Required to safety lift and move items up to 70 lbs. Strong attention to detail and the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Self-starter, able to identify and take-on tasks Flexibility and the ability to quickly and smoothly handle unanticipated changes and needs. Ability to learn briefing center equipment Knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment and computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of assignment Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations as well as demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy Ability and willingness to work, both independently and as part of a team environment Regular hours: 9:00am 6:00pm, Ability to work extra hours, as needed or adjust hours in come in earlier or work later to support different event times Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to tight deadlines Required to stoop, bend, kneel and squat for extended periods of time Valid Driver's License, with good driving record


  • High School Diploma

Preferred Skills

  • Previous related experience in a hotel and/or conference center

  • Experience with audio/visual equipment such as laptops, projectors and microphones

  • Working knowledge of supporting events

  • Shipping and Receiving

Special Demands
