THE POSITION

The Westmoreland County Department of Human Services has an opportunity for you working in our newly consolidated fiscal department. In this position you will be working with the departments of Aging, Children's Bureau, Behavioral Health, Veteran's Affairs, and Community Relations and Prevention.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this Clerk 2 position, you will be responsible for a variety of clerical and fiscal duties involving financial record keeping and/or transactions relating to departmental functions, including processing accounts payables and receivables, data entry of services rendered, and supporting general fiscal operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.

  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Eligibility will be determined after successfully completing 3 months of continuous, regular employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Youngwood.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or

  • Completion of a high school business curriculum; or

  • Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny, Armstrong, Cambria, Fayette, Indiana, Somerset, Washington, or Westmoreland counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
