Indiana Department of Revenue

The Indiana Department of Revenue is responsible for providing service to Indiana citizens regarding state tax matters. Additionally, the department administers state tax laws, develops regulations and makes decisions about tax policy.

Clerical Assistant

The Clerical Assistant receives all Department of Revenue mail and sorts for distribution to other processing sections. The Clerical Assistant is point person to sign for deliveries and deliver and/or pick-up inter-office mail. They are responsible for filing, refiles, and organization of the warehouse.

A day in the life

  • Sort incoming mail by P.O. Box Determine if form type gets cut, open mail on Omation.

  • Take completed trays to the Doc Prep section.

  • Sort incoming inter-office mail, deliver inter-office mail, pick up inter-office mail, sign for deliveries, file documents in warehouse, pull requests, and refile, run the ACE

  • One (1) year clerical or related experience or accredited college training in a related field.

Indiana Department of Revenue The Indiana Department of Revenue is responsible for providing service to Indiana citizens regarding state tax matters. Additionally, the department administers state tax laws, develops regulations and makes decisions about tax policy. Clerical Assistant The Clerical Assistant provides technical support functions within the Department of Revenue. Works with a high degree of independence requiring technical knowledge of the Department's rules, regulations, and general services. Incumbent is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the Indiana Department of Revenue Image Scan Team High Speed Equipment. This process is to capture images for the host system and to deposit money in to the bank once exported to TMS/Eflow and Fairfax. This also allows for electronic storage and retrieval for future research and proof of payment in DORStor. A day in the life * Assists in the operation and maintenance of the High Speed Imaging Equipment this process allows for the capture of the returns for storage and future retrieval * Manages the workflow of documents to be imaged so as to allow for the maximum number of documents scanned per split shift (as needed). * Maintains all of the IBML Supplies. * Performs all work assigned to the Image Scan Team to include high speed scanning, exception scanning, keying exception and Doc Prep. * Check Workflow Monitor often through the shift to make sure all items are kept up to date as far as Quick Key * Assist in the operation and maintenance of the Opex Scanner, and processing Low Volume returns, late sales tax returns, and Special Tax. * Assist in the operation and maintenance of the ITran and understand the Wausau System for Department of Workforce (DWD) processing – high level of understanding and skill for Wausau. * Performs related work as required What we're looking for * Two (2) years clerical or related work experience or accredited college training in a related field.
