Our BIAF Federal team is Headquartered in Arlington VA with another major office in Herndon VA. Collectively, these offices consist of over 700 employees dedicated to delivering built environment solutions to the Federal Intelligence Community and other Federal agencies. Our services include planning, design, construction oversight, and commissioning for highly mission-critical building and infrastructure systems directly supporting and sustaining the U.S. Intelligence Community's mission. We are in immediate need of the following skilled professionals to further enhance our offerings to the Federal government:
Our Electrical Engineers provide technically complex and robust power distribution systems to support mission-critical environments, including expansive back-up power, UPS systems, SCADA systems, and grounding systems. You will be exposed to and become proficient in overall power system architecture, fault analysis, and Uptime requirements. Additional requirements include power system planning, power distribution system design, short circuit analysis, coordination studies, arc flash studies, lighting design, grounding system design, lightning protection system design, and construction administration services.
Your daily job function will include one or more of the following:
Design and perform calculations for power distribution system design
Perform short circuit analysis, coordination studies, and arc flash analysis using ETAP or SKM software
Perform lighting system design and lighting controls system design, including analysis of systems using lighting software
Prepare load analysis for initial and ongoing stages of design
Prepare drawings detailing the system designed utilizing AutoCAD and REVIT
Prepare basis of design analyses and reports for each project
Prepare and document Energy compliance calculations and forms
Select equipment and fixtures
Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects
Bachelors Degree in Architectural Engineering (EE focus) or Electrical Engineering
EIT preferred; PE highly preferred
0-4 years experience for Junior level, 4-8 years of experience for Mid, 9 years for senior level in the design of building electrical systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
Security Clearance Secret required, TS preferred, TS/SCI highly preferred
10%-15% travel time expected with trip durations 1 to 2 weeks; international travel
