What this job involves: We are currently seeking a meticulous and experienced Cleaning Supervisor to join our reputable biotech company. As the Cleaning Supervisor, you will assume a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and upholding a sterile environment in adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and regulatory standards. Your main responsibility will revolve around overseeing and leading a team of janitorial staff, ensuring the strict compliance of cleaning procedures and protocols. This position demands the strict adherence to established cleaning practices and procedures, as well as strict enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain quality standards and regulatory compliance.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position that may require occasional work on weekends, holidays, and overtime, depending on business needs.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform cleaning services in accordance with established scope and adhere to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in non-classified spaces.

  • Assign janitorial duties to staff and regularly inspect their work to ensure compliance with established standards.

  • Verify and ensure the proper use of chemicals for each designated area.

  • Dispose of waste receptacles appropriately on a daily basis.

  • Order necessary supplies and manage inventory levels, ensuring timely reordering.

  • Organize and upkeep supply areas.

  • Develop work schedules and ensure proper staffing.

  • Participate in required training on the use of chemicals and equipment.

  • Follow and strictly adhere to site-generated Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Follow and advocate for proper Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Act as the main point of contact and lead in Janitorial Site Audits.

  • Assist with screening and hiring new job applicants.

  • Understand and comply with regulations outlined in the Local Union contract.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, bend, crouch, climb, and lift equipment and/or materials weighing up to 50 pounds for extended periods.

  • Continuous mental and visual focus on manufacturing functions.

  • Continuous standing and walking throughout the workday.

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:

  • Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Familiarity with company policies and practices, including safety rules and regulations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft platforms, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Prior experience cleaning a biopharmaceutical GMP-controlled environment is a plus but not required.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven experience as a Cleaning Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role.

  • Familiarity with cleaning practices, procedures, and equipment used in controlled environments.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to supervise and lead a team of janitorial staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback.

  • Effective planning and coordination of cleaning schedules for thorough and efficient outcomes.

  • Strong commitment to compliance with cGMPs, established cleaning practices, and regulatory standards.

  • Regular inspections to monitor cleanliness and identify areas for improvement.

  • Inventory management of cleaning supplies and equipment, including reordering as needed.

  • Collaborative scheduling of cleaning activities with minimal impact on operations.

  • Timely resolution of cleaning-related issues or concerns.

  • Proficient implementation and enforcement of safety protocols and procedures.

  • Accurate record-keeping and documentation for cleaning activities and staff performance.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to upholding cleanliness and quality standards.

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and cleaning management software.

  • Flexibility to work varied schedules and adjust workload based on operational needs.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent command of English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

  • Excellent attendance record and attention to detail.

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both in a team-based and independent work environment.

  • Strong ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Exceptional customer service skills for interactions with both internal and external customers.

Estimated compensation for this position is:

55,000.00 - 62,000.00 USD per year

The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
