Clean Room Technician - Springfield, Ohio

Essential Function:

Employee will perform set-up, operation, and autonomous maintenance for the Mixed Acid Etch, Ultrasonic Cleaning, and HF Final Clean operations. All employees must follow standard operating procedures and practices to ensure that all products will meet customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain wet benches to acid etch and final clean parts.

  • Maintain cleanroom cleanliness specifications according to protocol.

  • Operate and maintain Crest cleaners.

  • Operate measuring equipment as needed.

  • Properly handle brittle material.

  • Perform tasks in both group and individual environments.

  • Accurately input data into production tracking system.

  • Manage time effectively.

  • Ensure the cleanliness and order of inspection and test stations.

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality and Operating Procedures as appropriate.

  • Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing.

  • Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.

  • Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by department management.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent GED.

  • 2-5 years of experience in clean room, wet bench, and/or cleaning operations.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment.

  • Must be able to pay close attention to details.

  • Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision.

Equipment Operated:

  • Automatic or manual wet bench

  • Ultrasonic Cleaners

  • Computers

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate.

Provides technical expertise and project management for various equipment undertakings. Specifically this position will focus on the CNC troubleshooting, repairs and controls of existing equipment and lead the design of new equipment. This position may also focus on other manufacturing equipment such as robotic systems. Provide the safest possible workplace to our employees by modeling and following all company safety policies, reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately to SILFEX management. * Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures, as appropriate. * Contributes to the implementation of various manufacturing improvements including 5S, Lean, etc. * Interface with operations and engineering personnel to improve product quality, compliance, safety, reliability and reduce maintenance costs. * Manage large capital projects up to $1M and large equipment installations. * Be a technical resource for the department (CNC) * Incorporate multiple disciplines (electrical, quality, production, design) to create solutions. * Analyze maintenance data to identify trends in equipment and performance. * Troubleshoot unscheduled maintenance and equipment failures. Perform root cause analysis and take actions to improve equipment and processes. * Make recommendations on actions that can be taken to reverse adverse trends. * Create maintenance procedures and policies for new equipment. * Create a culture of best practices sharing. * Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs and evaluating equipment. * Optimize equipment uptime, reliability and efficiency. * Focus heavily on the CNC troubleshooting, repairs and controls of existing equipment. * Requires PLC and controls systems knowledge. * 5-axis knowledge. * Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors. * Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; conferring with equipment vendors and; soliciting observations from operators. * Evaluates maintenance programs (preventive, predictive, TPM & FMEA) ensuring minimal equipment downtime by analyzing maintenance processes and recommending preventative maintenance programs, as well as drive process improvements. * Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. * Tests newly installed equipment/machinery ensuring vendor fulfillment of contract specifications. * Create maintenance procedures and policies. Develop and administer training programs for maintenance techs. * Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training; establishing personal networks. * Flexibility to come in on off-shifts for training or information gathering. * Carry out special projects and all other additional duties as assigned. * Subject to call-in during off-shift and weekends as needed * Attend specialized training and cross train on the job for all maintenance activities plant wide. * Reports to the Facilities Manager.
