General Position Summary:

Classified Staff will help execute and supervise out-of-school activities with students. Our goal is to raise literacy and math achievement in grades nine through twelve and improve academic and nonacademic performance, while providing a safe and supportive environment and build and strengthen relationships with students. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Teaching and/or tutoring students

• Reading and math help for students

• Design and carry out fun and meaningful activities related to math, literacy, STEAM and/or Project Based Learning

• Mentor students

• Make a safe space for students and let them know they are cared about

• Work with students with different abilities

• Work as a team to develop curriculum that is fun, relevant and meaningful

• Provide clear directions that is still supportive to both students and paraprofessionals

• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and organize prep time

• Ability to drive a school van with students

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree

• Ability to obtain Emergency Substitute Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree or highly qualified teaching certificate

• Interest in teaching project-based STEAM units

• Ability to speak Spanish

• Ability to relate with diverse youth and adults

• Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team member

• Classroom management and organizational skills

• Strong commitment to the program for consistency for students

• Willing to drive a school van
