Classroom Teacher-Virtual Advanced Placement

Purpose and Scope

This position is responsible for professional virtual instruction in the AP Academy designed to provide academic development for students in specific grades/subject areas to prepare them to be successful citizens and workers in the 21st century.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Education and an endorsement in the grade/subject taught with a valid Tennessee certificate. Governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Tennessee Code Annotated and the collective bargaining agreement.

Prior virtual instruction experiences preferred. Knowledge of Canvas Learner Management System and Microsoft Teams preferred. Ability to operate a computer, to use appropriate software applications and to operate video recording equipment required.

(PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

Degree Equivalency Formula:

Bachelor's Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master's Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience preferred. Where Master's degrees are required, years for Bachelor's Degrees must be included.
