Job Description:

The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of:

Theatre/Speech & Debate Teacher

(Middle School and High School)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree with a valid Missouri Certificate.

Certification:

• Theatre and Speech (7-12)

Length of contract: 9.25 months

The successful candidate will:

• Articulate how intentional planning and backwards design will be used in the classroom.

• Display enthusiasm for teaching and describe how they will engage students in the learning process.

• Promote academic language to enhance student understanding.

• Be able to articulate how formative assessment strategies will be used in the classroom.

• Describe how they will be a proactive communicator with parents.

• Articulate teaching strategies that will engage students in learning.

• Be a proactive communicator with parents and colleagues.

• Be able to discuss how student data can be used to inform and guide instruction.

• Demonstrate effective classroom management strategies.

• Work collaboratively with other staff members of the department and building.

• Outline a plan for annual stage productions.

• Communicate a plan to grow and maintain a competitive speech and debate program.
