Special Education/Learning Support Teacher - Secondary Level

Position: Special Education/Learning Support Teacher

Responsibilities:

The Transcend Program serves students who face academic challenges because of documented mild learning differences or attention difficulties. The ideal candidate for this position would:

• Work with students with documented mild learning differences or attention difficulties in a 1:1 to a 1:3 setting

• Have knowledge of /experience in current special education topics and methodologies

• Collaborate with teachers and parents to track students' progress

• Implement the latest knowledge and best practices in pedagogy, curriculum development, technology, and student assessment

• Develop well-structured lessons with measurable objectives and appropriate student engagement strategies, pacing, sequence, activities, materials, resources, and grouping

• Identify and implement appropriate differentiated interventions and enhancements for student learning

• Use technology (including online resources and a learning management system) to organize and enhance student learning

• Collaborate with colleagues on pedagogical approaches and instructional strategies

• Reflect on practice, seek and respond to feedback, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and development in best practices

Qualifications:

• Degree or certification in Special Education
• 1-2 years of experience working with students
