School/Department: Coginchaug Regional High School

Position Description: Regional School District 13 is seeking a long term substitute special education teacher for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.

Qualifications: Current and Valid CT Teaching Certification (065/165)

Performance Expectations/Qualifications/Responsibilities:

• Current and Valid CT Certification as a Special Education Teacher (065/165)

• Experience in working with students with diverse educational needs and supports

• Strong ability to develop and maintain communication and rapport with parents

• Knowledge of evidence-based learning strategies to support identified students in the least restrictive environment

• Ability to collect, manage and analyze data to measure student progress and inform instruction

• Experience in formal evaluation and assessment practices

• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders

• Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, a high degree of flexibility and initiativ

• Knows and effectively communicates the Regional School District 13 philosophy and mission.

Reports to: Building Principal/Director of Student Services and Special Education
